Actually if you read the comments, a surprising number of people thought it was real. Now that is real state-o'-the-art DUH for ya. 😁

The thing I didn''t like is that apparently the vid was made by Microsoft, as a sorta-kinda spoof of the iPhone. Which is dumb, 'cause MS is obviously just jealous, and is known to be seriously planning to launch a 'ZunePhone' to try to compete with the iPhone. They're just mad 'cuz Apple got there first, and with a better product than MS is likely to make.

Still, I did like the part in the video where the guy threw the oPhone like a shuriken.

I dunno... they seemed pretty serious about making one as of last September:

At a press conference today, Chris Stephenson, GM for Zune, told the press, "A Zune phone is definitely part of the future of this brand." We did definitely hear before that Microsoft was working toward setting up an MVNO, but even if that never takes off, there's no reason to believe the Zunephone won't spring to life regardless.

When questioned at a USA Today event yesterday, Steve Ballmer sort of (emphasis on sort of) put the rumor
about the Zune phone to bed -- apparently it's "not a concept you'll ever get from us."

they could be lying..i mean hell..sony flat out denied their working on a 60 gig playstation3 but..its been proven later that they are. if this elusive zune phone does come out..it will be sprint..wimax...and that wont be fully operational for another 2or so years...it would be a nice phone...and prob better than the iphone...but i think it will be a big block phone for all their trying to put under the hood.

LOL. No. The Zunephone, if they ever make it, will be to the iPhone what the Zune is to the iPod... a nice try, at best.

MS isn't even claiming to be making such a thing and they're already being blasted for it. I suppose you can't have the second most valuable brand in the world without hostile criticism like this 😎

i remember when Sega made a better gaming console than Sony (Dreamcast vs playstation) yet the Sony fanboys persisted and the Dreamcast fell off into obscurity. however, the playstation eventually became a leader in its industry. i'm guessing the same will be true with MS and the Zune will be much improved the second time around. the first one is pretty lame. i should start a website blasting it. that would make sense.

Actually, Microsoft themselves HAVE said they're very interested in making such a thing, and that it was part of the future of the Zune brand:

Chris Stephenson, GM, Zune marketing: "As I said earlier on, the entire Zune platform and brand is about a family of devices. So to the degree that phones and other products exist in the family going forward, absolutely, that's definitely where this is all going."

Reporter: "So a Zune phone is somewhere over the horizon?"

Stephenson: "There is a possibility for a Zune phone, yes."

Later, another reporter: "You raised the possi

As it comes to the iphone vs the zune phone this is what i beleive might happpen...
ok the iphone already has bad review because it cant do the things a should do... like picture and video messagin etc .

the zune phone if it shall come can be better.
we all know that apple makes some crazy nice systems out there but i had expected more. Ms if they make it might come with its things but i beleive in terms of satisfaction it will have it all like ipod vs zune the zune can do many things as the ipod cant sample songs oketc but you know we cant just go like o iphone best ms sucks wait and see wat happens then see if your right ok

The Zune isn't better, its just MS's copy of the iPod. Its 'as good', maybe, and doesn't look as nice. So what's the point? 😕

You also almost can't hardly give them away. My local GameStop was carrying them, and there's was like a mountain of unsold Zunes sitting next to the register. I asked the salesguy what's up with that, and he said no one wants 'em. They're just collectin' dust. ☚ī¸

i don't know....if they just stuck to software then we wouldn't have the XBOX, which is a big playstation killer. even if they don't make money on that project in a long time yet, it's still a huge success for them. it brings MS Live into the living room. the Live network has the potential to be HUGE for MS in the future. and MS owns the online gaming. i suppose they somehow stole that from Apple as well.

Apple fanboys are so jealous and caught up with Microsoft's success (yeah i know...apparantly it's MS that is jealous of Apple) that they spend way too much of their time complaining about everything they do. it's sad, really. better get ready to start blasting Google. they're getting big and powerful and they didn't exactly invent their...

I thought the Wii was the 'Playstation killer'... Nintendo seems to be doing better than anyone right now, both in consoles and handheld gaming.

What exactly would Apple fanboys have to be jealous of? Microsoft ...

i'm really just hoping that i'll be able to go 24 hours without hearing about this thing. I can't even bring myself to say the name anymore. the hype, the debate, the putting down/defending of a company that you don't work for, it's getting a little annoying. when the ______ comes out then i will discuss it's pros/cons...

i'm tired of it. it's a phone. not world peace.

now here comes the "But the ______ will bring about world peace" arguments.

fyi....the above comments were not intended for any one specific person. just a generalization of the masses. on both sides.

Unfortunately, the amount of talk you've heard about the iPhone so far is only the tip of the iceberg, looks like. When the thing launches next month, there'll be nowhere to run. 👀

Don't get me wrong, I like the thing (though not enough to switch to mediocre ATT to get one), but the hype tsunamai hasn't even hit yet.

Steve Jobs just copied most Japanese/South Korean manufacturers anyway. too bad they're a year or two late. the iPhone doesn't impress me all that much.

wow...look how easy that was.
