I just found out VZW sent me a refurbished Samsung i730 instead of a new one!
Now I'm a little pissed. It doesn't really matter since I couldn't tell at all, but still. 👿

how old was it? what happened
...
How old was it? I don't know..
I bought it (upgrade online) late April (this year) and I just found out today that it was actually refubrished.
See, it came loaded with Windows Mobile 5 and the new ones only ship with 2003 SE.
...
how did you come to find the phone was a refurb?
In my time with vzw i have never seen a phone sent online be a refurb.
So either the info you have is wrong. Or I am a crazy man 🤨
...
I would be interested to know ow you found it was refurb as well. Also, if what you say is true, you do realize the windows mobile 5 is a later version of windows mobile than 2k3se right?
...
I'd be pissed man...You didn't pay for a refurb phone. I was wondering why you had wm5 already on it. Mine came with 2003se on it. Sorry man
...
When did you buy yours?
...
Someone on Howard Forums said that if it came installed with Windows Mobile 5 then it was a refurb.
But yes I know WM5 is newer and better.
...
If it was a referb it would have come in a white box instead of a normal phone box and would have a little round sticker under the battery to indicate it was a referb. Was this the case?
...
No. I'm not totally sure what happened.
...
if you got the phone in the period of time that vzw had run out of stock on, and got some of the new stock. then the new stock has windows5 on them. is stock that samsung had put wm5 on. as for one person who posted that they put a sticker on back under battery for refurbs. i havent seen a phone yet that says refurb on any sticker. but you can always check lifetime on phones to see if refurbs. as for your i730 being a refurb, call up vzw and see about getting some credit for receiving a refurb phone when you were paying for a new phone.
...
I did buy it in that span of time between stocks. Thank you, you solved the mystery!

was this a phone you just purchased full retail or with an upgrade? Was this a phone that was replaced through the warranty? Was it past 30 days of the purchase at a direct store/online/customer service? If it was past the 30 days and was a warranty replacement it is a refurb phone that you recieve not a new one so in this case you were not screwed. If it was new go back to where you bought it and speak to the people there.

It was with an upgrade, new 2 year contract. It was an online purchase from www.verizonwireless.com
It was the one shipped to me, I have no exchanged anything. It also came in the original box.
