Did they just lower the prices on all LG's....

except the 8600? frick man...i was purposely waiting another week or so to upgrade my phone (to the 8600) because i was anticipating a price drop over the entire LG line. i think EVERY LG phone was reduced in price EXCEPT the 8600. what a bad beat.

is this a screwup on Verizon's part that could be fixed eminently or is it like i said: a bad beat?

btw, can't do the 8700 because no external music controls and wimpy diplay. i want to lighten the load and not have to deal with any additional mp3 players.

Yep. Now that the store is open for business I can say they did a refresh last night and LGs are now the focus item. Don't know how long they'll stay there, though. In the direct channel retail stores, LG 8500 Chocolates are BOGO @ 99.99 after a 50 dollar mail in rebate with a new 2 year agreement for qualifying upgrades/new activations. The 8300 is now 49.99 BOGO after a 50 dollar MIR, and the 5300 is 29.99 BAG3 after a 50 dollar MIR, both with the same contract stipulation. If there is updated pricing beyond that, I'll post it later.

weird. i wonder why they didn't touch the 8600. they even lowered the price on the just released 8700. maybe this means it's a good phone and still selling fine. still, that's kind of lame that they would lower the price on every other LG phone without doing a thing with the 8600. oh well.

how do indirects stack up against corporate? i think the only indirect i have here is Cellular Plus, which is regional for Montana and Wyoming.

as an agent, we can match the prices for new customers but for existing customers verizon does not compensate us with spiffs for upgrades.

What happens if you bought the 8700 phone 4 days ago and paid the old price? Are we entitled to "get the difference" within a prescribed period of time?

well...the return window is 30 days so you essentially have a 30 day price protection since you could just as well return it and buy it again at a lower price. i had also wondered if Verizon had a specific price protection policy, but it appears that they don't.

i think the appropriate thing to do would be to make this formal policy but too many companies instead decide to put 100% of the burden on YOU to utilize this gaurantee. i'm not saying they HAVE to. it just makes sense.

VZW does offer price protection....call customer service and request a credit for the difference in price....If you get an idiot that does't know what he/she is talking about, ask for a supervisor.

right. i understand that. but i don't think it's something in their formal policy that is made public knowledge. that isn't the impression i got anyway. they'll certainly credit your account if you ask within the 30 days.

i don't know....maybe i just talk to uninformed reps that don't care about their jobs. it's quite possible 😕
