Question regarding NE2
I was told today that if a person changes his plan, thereby extending his contract, that this negates his right to use NE2 at the end of the original two year period. It was unclear to me whether this is the case if the contract is extended prior to being elligible to buy the new phone pursuant to NE2 or only if the contract is extended during the time of elligibility to purchase the new phone pursuant to NE2.
Is the above true? How does it work?
Thanks.

When you change your plan it is just like signing up for the first time. You become eligable (sp) for NE2 at the end of your plan that you just moved to... 😳

Thanks. That's an easy trap to fall into. I would have thought that a person still qualified at the end of the initial two year period he originally signed up for.

Actually, I just changed my contract to a new one. I was told that my contract is NOT connected ANYWAY to the NE2 program.
Therefore, although I renewed my contract October 11, 2004, I am up for my NE2 in February 2005.
That is what I have been told by 3 different VZW customer service agents. If that's not true, I'll be VERY VERY VERY upset.
It depends on WHEN YOU BUY the phone. For most ppl, it's whne they sign a contract, so ppl think it's connected. Like I said, 3 diff ppl told me this cuz I wanted to be 100% sure I could do my NE2 in February....and if I can't, I am going to raise hell. 😛

Its actually very simple. New every 2 applies every 22 months as long as the following requirement is met.
-Customer has been on a price plan no lower than 34.99 for entire time. (The only exception is unlimited calling plans)
They must renew for 24 months from the time they take advantage of new every 2. The current contract on account has nothing to do with new every 2. You can renew all you want to get new pricing/promos and new every 2 date stays the same.

That's how I thought it worked, until the Verizon rep told me to the contrary today.
