Phone selection?

Hey guys,

I was just looking over your phone selection and see that you are basically given the option of flip phone or no phone. Do you ever wish Verizon had other phones for you to pick from?

I say this being a ATTWS (well Cingular blue) customer and having switched up to GSM a few months ago. I went from being a long time Nokia user to a Sony Ericsson T637 and LOVE IT. Can't see myself with any other brand other than SE.

Do you feel you lack selection or in general or the SE brand?

You think you have a good selection? I'm not trying to cause problems (I see you guys are in a constant state of arguement). Isn't there some phone you wish you could have that other have?

While I'd readily admit that Verizon doesn't carry as many phones as I wish they would, I can't complain about the phone service...which I know has to do with the carrier more than the handset itself. I personally prefer the clamshell design to the candybar form...so it's not really a problem for me. But when it comes down to the nittygritty, all that matters to me is that I get phone service wherever I go...and so far, I've always had service.

I didn't even touch or go near the question or service or switching. I simple asked if you wished you had more handset selection or had a particular phone other carriers had that you might like to have.

nowhere in there did I state or ask anything remotely near service issues.

Hey...sorry...guess I shouldn't have answered in the first place. I thought I did mention the fact that it'd be nice if Verizon did carry more handsets. But nevermind.

I'm not Bleu, but for me, it'd be Moto v180. Unlike many, I don't like complex, everything-but-the-kitchen-sink phones, but excellent basic phones, which the v180 seems to be.

However, given that Verizon has the best network where I live, there's no way I'd even look twice at T-Mobo or Cingy/ATTW to get one. And my Sammy 530 is more than good enough. 🙂

I had SE phones before I switched to VZW, IMHO they're crap, everybody I know who has had one has gotten rid of it.

SE also does not make any current CDMA phones so as to why VZW doesn't carry them is a mute point. In fact most the CDMA phones that they did make were discontinued due to Quality Control issues. Plus, they only made one phone for VZW, which sucked.

VZW offers the Nokia 3589i, 6015i, the Kyocera K404 & KX414, and the PalmOne Treo 600 Smartphone.

Clamshell designs are more popular that standard Bar designs, just look at how many more models there are now compared to when the StarTac first came out.

Also, its not that VZW lacks in selection of phones, its that they lack in the most up-to-date technology.

What were my issues with SE phones? 🙄

Poor quality screens, cheap feeling housings and buttons, no clamshell designs.

Its a mute point anyhow. I have VZW now and even if I did switch to a GSM carrier I would get SE.

Overall, just not a fan. Same way some people on this board are not fans of Motorola.
