so this phone is cdma for verizon....but i see it also supports gsm for overseas roaming....

so my question is....does it have a slot for a sim card and everything or what? how does that work switching between the two? i know it doesnt work with any us gsm carriers.

Yes it does have a slot for a sim card. The network switch is automatic.

When you go overseas and turn your phone on the first thing it does is check the last network used (normally CDMA) if it cant find it then it looks for GSM.

The device is probably the best blackberry that i have seen. Especially with the removable memory and the media management. It is a great all in one device.

I am new to the BB so excuse my ignorance. My BB (verizon service) claims world wide usage. I know this is automatic when using verizon service. If I want to purchase a SIM card overseas at a local supplier (to reduce rates), will it be automatic?
What will I have to do?
