iPhone discussion

I've just been over on the iPhone discussion. It's been a ton of laughs. There's some people over there who don't care that the phone's unsubsidized and still requires a 2y contract; doesn't support 3g; doesn't have a removable battery or convenient support channels; and is the first attempt at a phone from a company that can't keep it's share of the computer marketplace. Some of these guys really think it's revolutionary and will sell millions.
Just wanted to share the fun, go have a giggle.

RAZR. That's all I'm gonna say.

It will sell and help Apple... but AT&T won't get as much from the deal as planned. Tons of users will just be upgrading or possibly phantom churn (cancel existing account, open new account) if they aren't eligible to upgrade (don't know how that's gonna be since it's unsubsadized). Toss in wifi and keep it on EDGE and there's not going to be as many data sales as AT&T hopes for.
Again, it'll sell... but what they really want (new customers, data) is not going to come as much as planned for.
