Could this explain the '9900 is discontinued/No, its not!' ongoing debate?

that's not why audivox9900 is discontinued there just isnt anymore left they were really popular since they were only 49.99.

Think about it a bit more... if Audiovox knew they were going to be sold, and that the new parent company was going to cut a different set of deals, perhaps that impacted their ability/commitment towards making enough of the 9900 so that there wouldn't be a shortage?

Another theory (yep, I admit its just a theory) is that the limited supplies & blowout prices were arranged so that the 9900 would not be an actively sold product post-sale... at least not on a scale that mattered. I wouldn't know exactly why, but then I'm not a corporate bean counter or lawyer.
