Just wondering if anyone of these phone junkies who by the latest and greatest every chance they get, give any thought to E-waste.

May I suggest that phones with little or no value for activation purposes on a service provider (i.e., phones without the E911 component) can still be used by groups like womens' shelters, that would still allow law enforcement agencies to be contacted in an emergency. I have close to a dozen phones at the moment just laying around collecting dust, with absolutely no value to me or anyone else to be able to be used on a commercial provider. On the other hand, any one of them could possibly save a life.
As long as there are people out here who must have the latest and greatest as soon as it hits the showroom, there is going to be waste. Let's put it to good use.
