why on motorazrs and krazrs are there delays when operating the phone such as in the menu and texting? it seems to really bother me and is the reason why i've been choosing LG phones over them lately.

Motorola didn't design the UI (user interface)

it seems to be optimized for LG really

If you're using the motorola namely for texting, I recommend checking your inbox/outbox and the number of messages in it. If you have over 75 of each, delete your box. Motorolas on VZW don't have internal memory limitations as far as usage on the V3 and K1m phones, so you can eat up a ton of your resources on the phone with storage of txt. Also, check for software updates at your nearest direct retailer with a service technician.

I could be wrong about this, but I think the 'Verizon OS' is just a UI or shell, and that the underlying software/'OS' is different from phone maker to phone maker. And I hear Moto's underlying OS sucks, which is why they're making a new Java/Linux OS that is way faster.

Also hear that said Moto Java/Linux OS might NOT be in the RAZR 2 on the CDMA side. If so, its sorta pointless to wait for the RAZR 2, as it won't be much faster. ☹️

Given Moto's track record of sucking at software, especially on new-release phones (glitches galore), perha...

I would never get any Moto in the first couple of months that its out anymore. They've burned some of my friends. It's just not worth it to trust them anymore. ☹️

LG 8700 is certainly gorgeous, and is supposed to be good. But whenever I talk to VZW reps (or people on this forum), they always seem to recommend the LG 8300. It's a tank, but has an amazing speakerphone, works great overall, and apparently doesn't come back much for repairs, etc. Guess it depends on what you're after, form or function. Both are good phones from what I hear, though.

Good place to get more opinions on phones is HowardForums,...

I know the slow problem was fixed on the Razr Maxx VE. Now whether that will carry over to other phones, who knows. I wish we did though. The Moto rep tried to explain it to me. He said on the older phones the VZ UI talkes to the Moto UI which talks to the phone and that makes it slow. He said on the Maxx they totally redesigned it and now the UI you see talks directly to the phone. Hopefully all phones coming forward will be like this.

I'm being totally serious here. What's wrong with the Maxx. We've sold several now and not had a single complaint yet. It seems like an awesome phone to me.

I know on the razr the delay gets worse as you save more and more text on it. Once you get over 100 in your sent or inbox you should start clearing them. They don't set aside a set memory for the messaging like the lg's do. It is noce because it doesn't fill up so quick or limit you, but bad because it slows phone down.

other than that moto's running verizon ui suck..I stick with lg
