I am an LG fan & currently have an enV. I also work for an indirect agent so I do have some experience in this field. Samsungs in my opinion are not all that great because of: Battery life is NOT great, the u740 doesn't seem very durable because of the hinge design. I'd say go with the LG as I see a lot less problems with that brand compared to the Samsungs.

I have to disagree there. I have had a number of LG's and they all slowly die out on me. I bought an env in Dec and it needs to be replaced. In fact all the LG's I have had only lasted about 6-12 months.
Whereas my 740 is really good and still going strong.

it depends on what you want to do. do you need a full querty keyboard or are you fine with texting like normal. i like LG phones. the 8600 is a great phone and has the same functions as the U740 except the 8600 has stereo bluetooth support and a longer battery life. go with the 8600 or the en-v

a better idea is the 8700 or the 9900, the 8600 is ok, i would stay away from the samsung, poor battery and not very sturdy, looks cool though

Im not trying to make it more difficult for you but get the 8700 over the 8600 and get the 9900 over the u740. I love the qwerty keyboard. The 9900 is my final answer.

I am with the poster that basically states that it comes down to if you want a full qwerty keyboard or not...
I have sold a few of both. I have not had ONE u740 come back (except for one that filed an isurance claim due to a boating incident), I have had a handful (not too many) of the 8600's come back with charge port issues. (broken jackets and port boards).
Both are middle of the road for reception and battery life. Both are high on features and designs. It comes down to the keyboard. The buttons on the u740 are very tiny. You will need to see if that works for you.
