Not sure what will happen there, KingJohn. I established service eight years ago in the Washington, DC market with Verizon, and moved to Charlottesville, VA in November of 2004, where you cannot get a local VZW number. I gave up my VZW service on June 10th, about 9 days ago, simply because I needed to have local people be able to call me without a LD charge. Now, that's different from starting service in a non-VZW city. Keep in mind you will be in extended area 100% of the time in OKC, without access to normal things like checking your minutes or calling a CSR from your phone. Verizon may just make you wait, but you will get a Tulsa # to start with IF they allow you to activate now, which would be long distance for everyone who lives cl...

I'm pretty sure if you make more than 60% of your calls (or something like that) that are roaming, they can cancel your service.

VZW does reserve the right to terminate your contract if you are roaming over half of the time. I have been at VZW care 2 years never seen it happen yet. Im sure you will be ok.

One of my friends is on my family plan. I'm in Montana, a full Verizon area, and he is in Fort Smith, Arkansas, which is extended network. He can't send pictures, update his roaming preferences, etc. He has been there for about a year now, and Verizon has never said a word. I can't imagine you would have a problem. I hear of other companies like T-Mobile and Cingular enforcing it, but if you look at their coverage maps, they also have roaming areas. Verizon doesn't. I realize they are still in roaming agreements with other companies but maybe it's not as big of a deal to them. I don't know. But I really don't think you would have a problem.

My Question? If you are going to use someone else's network which is what your doing with roaming why be with verizon? That was my thoughts when I was in NC and verizon was hit or miss with coverage. The store said well you have extended network service. I said if I wanted alltel I will go down the street and get them I want verizon. So I canceled due to not being able to get them. Just my thoughts.
