Should or Shouldn't?
I have a general question for the Verizon reps. or for anyone else connected with Vzn.
My one year contract expires on 1/05, does Verizon offer it's soon to expire customers any incentives for them to stay with them?
Where I live in Gainesville, Fl. zipcode 32614 and area code 352. All six carriers work well here. But I'm thinking of switching to Cingular. Better phone selection, more bluetooth, sim cards, less costly per minute plans.
Is it easy for Verizon to keep a present customer or to get a new customer? They have a lot of compitition now, besides that, as I mentioned above, they really do not have advantage here in converage.
Thanks in advance.

Three words:
Verizon restricts Bluetooth.

I'm a Verizon rep in California, and I tell all of my customers the same thing. It is a buyer's market and there are so many deals available. You really can't go wrong with whoever you go with. Worst case, you get a service you are not happy with and have to wait out your one or two year contract (or pay the ETF). In my area, we generally have better coverage than the other companies, but our plans aren't as generous. I would rather be able to use my minutes than have a bunch I can't use. In your case though, it sounds like you can shop for the exact phone you want and not really have to worry about reception. Most of our discounts go to 2 year customers or high usage customers, but talk to customer care and see if they offer credits for re-...

🙂 Speaking from a Customer Care end of things, we value each and every one of our embedded customers. With you being on a one year aggrement. and looking to go forward with another one year, my suggestion would be first to try out another carrier that offers a trail period before giving up your VZW service. A lot of people will claim to have the same grade of service as us, but have never had service with us to compare. I make this suggestion often and 90% of the time, the customer stays with Verizon Wireless. As far as data products are concerned, I can understand the concern with blue tooth. I agree that you should call into Customer Care so that we can take a look at your account and try to offer you a wireless solution.

verizon offers a new every two program, basically you get the same price as a new customer. so it would not be advantageous to stay with them, it would cost about the same to get a better product with cingular

Cingular let's customers upgrade online at the same cost... as new customers...

during contract or only out of contract. Afriend of mine has/had AT&T and they let customers upgrade while in contract but would add 2 more years to current contract. VZW only offers new customer prices when contract is 60 days from end.
