I would recommend the 8300, better battery, better speaker for music, but if you want a thin mp3 phone get the 8600. The lg products are not as cripled and will give you music buttons on front, also mp3 format is supported. they will allow a lot of personalization on the menus, like banner color, video wallpaper and offer a lot of bluetooth profiles. yeah i know but bluetooth through bitpim has always been hit or miss for me so I don't really use it much for that anymore.
BitPim doesn't do much for newer CDMA handsets, unless you want to backup, delete or overwrite.
You can also rename MP3 ringtones to QCP and email to VZWPIX, saving them to your ringer folder.
Configure Motorola Phone Tools as K1mm and have full Multimedia Studio transfer ability too.
