I love the qwerty for texting and I am thinking about getting the LG-9900 but I want to know if I should hold off due to another cool qwerty board phone coming out soon.

I dont want a PDA either. Is there a LG-10000 or whatever the upgrade to the 9900 will be called coming out soon?

Thanks!

I've got the U740. The buttons are small but nicely spaced and very tactile. It didn't take but a day to get used to it. I did a text-a-thon with my sister today for some family junk and I probably mis-type more on my computer than I do on my Sammy....

Good phone but so is the 9900. Only advantage of the Samsung is that it is smaller/less bulky than the LG which was important for me.

I've had the u740 for a couple of days and really have to commend samsung on it. The keyboard is a little small until you get used to it...took all of 2 hours. The form factor is great any way it's open or closed. reception and call quality are excellent
However i'd say go to a store and hold and play both of them...see which one feels better.
My vote is for the u740

my 2 cents

I'd get EnV over samsung. i had the V and that was by far best phone i ever had before switching to blackberry 8830. specifically, the earpiece volume, stereo speakers, wide keyboard

I've never seen a QWERTY bar device that wasn't a PDA.

I think you are going to have to settle for a regular QWERTY phone, and the 9900 is a great phone. You should get it.

I have both the 9900 (env) and the u740 on my plan. It is my experience that the env has better gadgets while the u740 is a better phone.
