I have sent a few messages to the account manager of indirects for the Gainesville Florida area with no response. I contacted an HR rep for that region with the direct channel and got responses immediately. They checked my references and are very ready to get me on board. So, I might be joining the direct side.
The only other option is one of the owners of the indirect company I work for now is making me an offer. Front all costs to set up my own store in that area but he becomes majority owner...51 percent to my 49 percent in the company. However, it will be contracturally agreed that I run the business as I see fit. I get paid an agreed upon monthly salary and 49 percent of the quarterly profits. are you a premiun agent?? As a premium agent Verizon cannot hire you until you are away from them for 6 months!!
But anyway, I say get your own store..screw working for the man and following policy and being micro managed..If i had the opportunity you are talking about i would take the store so you are free to run it how YOU want.

plus i am betting profits will be better that way and since you are on profit share you don't have to worry as much about quotas and crap like that

Yeah...quotas for indirects are very easily attainable. We are not a "premium" agent (haven't even heard of that terminology) but we are soon to be an exclusive. I would really like to open my own store. I know I can make it work. I just know it can take up to 6 months before it can open that up and don't know if I can wait...

Open your own shop eagle, dont go under somebody else, It shouldt take more then 3 months to get selling, if you do it the way you are talking you will never be completely happy.

I don't have the 30 to 40 grand needed. Also, the salary will engulf most of the profits. The total profits will be what is left over. Although I hear for tax purposes it would be better to be paid on dividends instead of salaries.
