LG 8600 Speakerphone: How Bad?

SystemShock

Jun 26, 2007, 3:51 AM
Hey all. I'm upgrading next month, and reading up on possible choices. The LG 8600 has caught my eye... but a lot of reviews for the LG 8600 say its a very good phone, but that its big achilles heel is the speakerphone. ☚ī¸

This true, in your experience? I use speakerphone A LOT, so a phone that's good otherwise but has a suckass speakerphone is a no-go for me. Thanks for any light you can shed.

it is ok, not the best by far, not the worste either, IMO none of the speakerphones on slim phones work great.

Yikes. Even the Samsung u540,with its front-firing speakers?

Also, what do peeps think of the RAZR V3m speakerphone? I've heard it, seems 'ok'... loud enough, anyway.

Guess it makes sense that slim phones wouldn't have as good a speakerphone, 'cuz there's not much room in there? 😕

I have the u540, and the speakerphone's great as long as you close the flip so the speakers aren't facing away from you.

Hey shock, im not sure what phone your currently using, but I have the 8300, when the 8600 came out I got it immediatly, I liked the phone until I tried the speakerphone, went back to the 8300 immediatly, the speaker phone is about a 3/10 where the 8300 is about an 8/10. For me it wouldnt work whatsoever.

Its better then the old audiovox phones but nowhere as good as the other LGs or the Motos (crap phone though).

I havent seen the 8700 in person though, but that is my next indever.

8700-worse

8600-like they said, about a 3 out of 10. A beautiful phone, but lousy speaker.

I stayed with my Sam A950...

The speakerphone on my Samsung i730 is nice, but I'd say the best speakerphone out now is the 8300. (have you seen the speakers on that thing?)

By old Audiovox phones, do you mean the 8910? I had that and the speakerphone was horrible. It had a mad echo and I couldn't understand what anybody said and vise versa.

Yeah, that is a good example, the 8600 (audiovox) was another one.

If speakerphone is important to you, avoid the 8600. I have it, and you cant use speakerphone in your car. You basically have to hold it up to your mouth so you can talk on it and hear it. The 8600 is the worst speakerphone I have seen LG come out with. Other then that, the 8600 is a good phone.

Have you tried bluetooth, the 8600 has that feature. I use the bluetooth feature all the time, I don't mess the speakerphone that much. Like I said, the 8600 is a good phone if you dont need the speakerphone.
