Other than staying open later, this is no different than a normal day??

I can't believe Verizon thinks the iPhone will sell. I consulted the "average cell phone consumer" at Yahoo Answers, and only about 20% say they think the iPhone is cool. And almost all of them say it's too expensive and they are not going to buy it.

Thats funny because 100% of the people in the huge line at my store said they are going to buy it.

I tried to quantify by saying "huge" but actually we sold over 160 phones and began taking orders. Nice attempt at a comeback though.

Amen. 100 of them sold at my store and over 40 direct fulfilment orders taken. And there were 50 people in line. Just admit that AT&T made a good decision, maybe then you can feel comfortable with yourself.

The iphone is going to be a huge success regardless of your extensive yahoo polling 🙄

Yeah, yahoo polling has always been proven to be a very reliable source of information time and time again.

Because, y'know, staying open late one whole day is a certain indicator of sheer terror. 🙄

Stop drinking the haterade, Plat.

Funny thing is, my local VZW store is always open 'til 9PM, so this doesn't change anything for 'em.

More funny is that there are 5 people on line at the ATT store here in West Windsow NJ..

It's a freaking blow out.. Smart people will know not to leave the best network to go to a GSM nasty voice quality network for a phone that is missing MMS, Voice Dialing and tons of other features needed for a phone.

Apple screwed this one up and trust me , the consumer will figure out fast that its not a great phone..

Its a great ipod and who cares about ipods🙂

How sad! Only 5 people in line at a store in a town with about 20000 people. I'd say thats not bad if in rural type settings the phone is getting any kind of buzz. The fact is that there are long lines in most major urban areas and the phone will sale despite its shortcommings. On another note, the best network thing is very subjective to your opinion and area you live. I switched from VZ to Cingular 18 months ago b/c it was not the best. That depends on where you live dude. Also, once the consumer starts purchasing movies and tv shows and transferring them to the phone flawlessly without ripping, formatting, and reformatting, they will see that this phone is pretty neat despite some of its drawbacks. One thing for sure is that no on...

We agree on pretty much everything. There churn rate though is very close. It is only seperated by about 5 tenths of a percentage point. So both companies are having great success at retaining customers. Considering that ATT had a merger with all kinds of issues and was able to improve so quickly out of the merger says alot on my part. But I was not saying that VZ had a bad network or anything like that. Just from my experience, they are not the best here in Lone Star State.

Mm... no. Verizon and ATT actually have quite different churn rates.

'5 tenths of percentage point' doesn't sound like much, until you actually look at the numbers. Verizon has 1.08 percent overall churn, ATT has 1.7 percent. So, compared directly, ATT has almost 60 percent higher churn than VZW.

Does it matter? Yeah. Run the numbers, and it translates to more than one million more customers per quarter walking away from ATT than are walking away from Verizon. VZW still has a huge e...

Meh. I was an Apple fan before it was trendy to be one, even in the mid-90s, when everyone was saying they were going to die out.

Back then you were probably on your PC, saying the same thing. 🤣
