What is up with Verizon Wireless ? I have worked for this company for over 12 years and have always loved my job and thought it was one of the very best companies that anyone could ever work for; but look what keeps happening. Verizon seems to have recently developed the attitude that they are so big and great that they no longer need to take good care of their employees, yes the employees that have made this company one of the very best wireless companies, if not the best. It seems like the bigger Verizon gets the less they care about the employees. I have heard that some of the top executives would like to start doing away with a lot of full time employees and have more part-time employees to whom they dont have to offer the great benefit...

I do see what you see in the fact that pay is getting cut-back and the such, but even with all that the pay and benefits are still much greater than what the competition is offering. I make more many as a Sales Rep than a friend of mine who works as a T-Mobile store manager. Heck, I made more than him when he was in sales also (because sometimes sales people can make more than managers).
Hey, just be thankful they aren't laying off workers like Sprint did (5,000 of them). In fact, I never heard the word "layoff" in the entire time I was with the company.
We don't need any unions because we get the better end of the stick than the rest of the industry anyways.

Replace verizon with radio shack and you have the same story 👀

Wow sounds like someone from the CWA created a phonescoop profile. Everyone I have talked to....and i mean everyone hates the union for everything it stands for in wireless.
Wow lets think about it......I have to talk to my HR rep about a dispute with something. Instead of just walking in the door like i normally would. I would be forced to schedule a meeting my union rep to "mediate" this can takes days maybe weeks. By this time my issue means nothing. 👿
Also for us VZW employees. February 28th goes bye bye. 👿 👿
All of our internal contest at work would have to be agreed upon by the Union. 👿
Union Dues 👿
So as you can see I enjoy the benefits that my company gives me. There no such t...

Haven't turned against Verizon at all, i love my job and love the company, I am just pointing out what is happening to the employees. I never once said I wanted a Union, I just said that maybe it is time for someone to represent the employees. I don't want to work anywhere else and still consider Verizon a wonderful employer, however anyone who has worked at Verizon any length of time has to see what is happening, the employees need to make these concerns known to the executive management. Verizon is getting so big that they are loosing touch with the employees, the employees are what made Verizon the best. Verizon needs to stop and think about what is going on and start taking care of the employees once again, The Fourtune Magazine ratings...

Callhelp, what you are describing is the evolution of a large company. Early on, the company will seek out quality employees and pay them a good wage for the work they do. These employees are happy and feel good about the company they work for. In turn, the employee works his/her ass off for the company. The company becomes successful because of this, earns higher revenue, becomes established entity in the financial market. The stockholders, financial news pages, and expensive executives become the priority. Concern for the average employees' morale falls down the list of company priorities. The company cuts back on the compensation for the average or lower level employee, yet demands more from the employee. The money that used to go to the ...

You know it may be true that the pay is less thna it used to be, but you have to look at the market right now. No otherm wireless carrier pays a retail sales rep even close to what VZW pays. $50000 - $70000 per year on average is pretty damn good pay for a retail sales rep. And the best reps make even more than that. I have a lot of friends who work in retail and none of them make anywhere close to what I make now.

I noticed that in addition to 'cellhelp', the sole defender, Daniel80, registered today as well and by sheer happenstance, found and posted in the same thread as that other new member and supports the position of said new member number one (cellhelp)
I love coincidence, don't you 😉

Wow, I can't believe we have such stupid bastards working for VZW. No wonder they want to pay us less with people like this working for the company. Exactly what the hell does being new to this site have to do with being unsatisfied or not with our compensation at VZW?? And I don't understand why I or the poor guy who started this thread get attacked for saying we aren't as happy with our compensation as we used to be...you guys act like Verizon Wireless is a ***king street gang or something and you have to "defend your hood" against anyone who says anything even slightly negative about it. Jesus! The guy said he was unhappy because he's not getting taken care of by the company like he used to or like he feels he should. If you haven't exper...

I didn't say I worked for WZW. I just made an observation.

If you don't work for Verizon, then maybe you should keep your nose and your observations out of it. Just an observation.

I have no idea what you are talking about. my pay keeps going up and the incentive checks keep getting easier to get and higher in ammount

Unions were ideal back in the 60's and 70s... There is no reason today to pay someone to be the middle man... I think its pointless... I believe this guy is just upset that some hot shot rookie at his store, made more sells, sold more accessories or something like that. He has been workin at verizon 12 years, maybe its time you do something different.. lol But I love working for Verizon.. its a great company... But it does sound like someone from the CWA has gotten a phonescoop account.

I agree fully. No need for a union whne the pay and benefits at VZW are better than the one that were negociated by the union for att.
