I played with the iPhone today... here's my mini-review
First of all, I'm gonna say that it's not a PDA at all. It feels more like a regular phone that happens to have a touch screen.
The QWERTY keyboard was not as bad as I had imagined, but still pretty bad. I made many mistakes (repeatedly as well) and it took a long time just to write something quick. The layout was good however, and if they had made the same design into a hard keyboard, it would have been stellar.
The web browser was fine, but far from perfect. For one, I couldn't log into Phone Scoop. It froze. But the rendering was good, and pages loaded fairly fast considering it was using EDGE. In fact, everything on the device didn't feel like EDGE, it was quite fast.

well I guess you will not be owning one then

Not unless they give me one for free.

Not going to happen. If they do not drop the price to about 399 then it wont happen for me either. I probably should just wait for the HSPDA model though.

I already have one. The thing is that I really have no uses for all of the PDA bells and whistles. With exception of email, that is the only thing I use it for. I just think that the phone is really good looking and love the ease to get movies and tv shows onto it instead of having to download this and that and going through all of those headaches. But 599 is more than I am willing pay for a cell phone with exception of the N95. That is the true ultimate cell phone

There are some devices out there worth the money but the Iphone, in my view isn’t, especially with the lack of functionality such as no high-speed data and push email support. I think once they add in high-speed data as well as push email support and other enterprise needed fundability it will be a hit. At least they could have put the HSPA on it, with EDGE backwards compatible, up until the HSPA overlays EDGE. Obviously, Apple knew that customers are going to be making multiple purchases of this version and then the newer one.
I will get a few nonetheless.
