Why hasn't any cell service come out with a post pay plan that allows you to pay for what you use. Example: use 1-500 minutes pay this. use 501-1000 minutes you pay that, etc. send 1-500 text messages pay this, 501-1000 text messages pay that, etc. simple and no guessing what plan to go on.

or do they just want the overages and pissed off customers with thousand dollar phone bills.

your thoughts!

Sprint had plans called Fair and Flexible which were exactly what you are describing. However, they are discontinued now.

Google Sprint fair flexible for info.

yes and no. I sold the F&F plans. basically you still had to pick 1 of 3 plans, then you paid 10 dollar for each 100 minutes that you went over upto 300 minutes if I remember right. then it was 10 cents a minute after that. I am talking just 1 plan, and you paid based on usage. A good example of someone who could use the plan is a pool cleaner for example. He/she might use 2000-3000 minutes in the summer and 200-300 in the winter. This person would have to change his plan every 6 months and in most cases extend his contract. It seams to me that cell phone providers are looking for customers to pay for 2 many minutes that they will never use or not enough and have to pay overages.
