I went out tonight and I got the new LG chocolate phone! I got it in the blue, and I must say, it's a pretty snazzy phone.

I've only had it a few hours, but I have excellent reception and call quality. There is no echo and no static like some people said... at least I don't have that problem.

The navigation wheel is very nice, it actually spins instead of being touch-sensitive. You can also press it instead of sliding it around.

The speakerphone is very clear.

The touch-sensitive buttons on the front are very easy to use. In the settings of the phone, there is an area where you can adjust the sensitivity of the buttons. Right now I have it on "medium" and its perfect.

Around the navigation wheel there are little LED lights th...

Try a bluetooth headset and then have the outside caller count to 10 and ask them what they hear ?

They will tell you , they hear themselves.

The Bluetooth is horrid !!!

The voice quality is muffled compared to the 8700 and the Moto 385.. Hate to be the bearer of bad news, it just is a muffled

Go into a VZW store and call your friend from the 8550 and at the same time call them from the 385 or 8700 and have them switch back and forth.. It's aweful !!

Not everybody uses bluetooth. If that's the only complaint about the phone, it will still be a great phone for some people.

I did try the bluetooth headset, and I called 3 people from the phone at the store. I called 2 people who have verizon and 1 person who has at&t.

All 3 people said it sounded great. There were no issues with it. It was not muffled at all on either ends.

I made calls at the store without the headset too- just the phone itself. Once again, no problem with it. No echo, excellent clarity, on both ends.

However, while the bluetooth headset worked very well, I did not buy it. I bought a music essentials kit instead... for me personally, I'd use the music kit more than I'd use the bluetooth. Bluetooth seems kinda silly to me, especially since there is a speakerphone and it sounds very well. That's just my personal preference, of course.

Yeah, some people just don't like the Chocolate and I can't even remember the last time I've had to do a warranty exchange on one. Mine works great and I've had it for a year. I would recommend Stereo B/T headset though. It's a lot better for listening to music.

I love the way the Chocolate (both 8500 and 8550) look. Maybe I'll get one on eBay...

I think this makes the phone the ultimate winner.

From the vzw.com website.

Video Recording Time: 30 Sec. (for sending) 😁 or up to 1 Hr. (for saving)

I saw this a couple days ago on a lg training site i go to for work. Just thought it was a typo.

Can someone with the phone please confirm this?

They are not "locked" to a carrier. Their ESNs are not allowed on another network by the other networks administrators...there is no locking a CDMA such as with GSM handsets.

Yes, that is true.

For sending, the time limit is 30 seconds, and the phone will store 30 of these videos.

For saving, the time limit is 1 hour, and you can also store 30 1hr videos.
