another thing price is not an issue (she was about to buy the iphone--until i warned her not to). she pretty much wants something with good reception, stylish, good bluetooth, navigation, and a microsd slot for more memory.

go for the LG 8700...and the iphone is waaaaay too over priced and its on an inferior network.

the LG 8700 is a pretty highly regarded, stylish phone.

yeah...according to who?

Oh, thats right...no one.

You don't have to like verizon, but you have to respect the quality of their network. And overall across the entire U.S. verizon is much stronger. And there are plenty of polls and data to prove that fact.

Hell, when I went to superbowl 2 years ago, verizon was the only cell carrier that consistently worked. My whole family had cingular and could barely make calls for 3 days cause the network was so jammed.

no kidding. i mean...you may not like the opposing team playing in the Super Bowl but can you really say they suck (like so many people end up saying)? you may not like them but they obviously don't suck since they made it to the SB. same thing with Verizon vs ATT regarding network. you may hate Verizon (i generally have gripes with ALL major companies), but you think you could respect the quality of their network regardless. you're either childish or just in denial if you can't accept that. what's next? my dad can beat up your dad?

Does it actively hurt when you lie to yourself that hard, AT&T boy? 😳

Now run along home and write me a ten-page paper about how Verizon is the network ATT wants to be when it grows up. 😁

The VX8600 was discontinued, but there will still be 8600s in some of the stores. If she has her heart set on that phone, she could probably find one pretty easily. I have 4 in my store as we speak.

call in and ask them if there are any 8600's left. Sometimes they take it off the website when the numbers get low. Otherwise, I am sure it will still be easy enough to find at a store yet. get the 8600 if you can, it is a good phone. I have a 5 line family plan and 3 out of those have this phone. It would be worth your time to find one.
