Read this over on the VZW site:

You must retain the same wireless handset for 24 months in order to receive the full advantages of this program. If you choose to replace your handset at a discounted price, you will forfeit your benefits and be automatically reenrolled if you meet the requirements of the program.

I haven't 'retained the same wireless handset for 24 months' 'cuz my old one developed hinge and body cracks and broke, essentially. I've been using a friend's old handset for the past couple of months. ☹️

What gives me hope here is that I didn't get said phone through VZW, so didn't use up an upgrade or early replacement or anything. Therefore, why should they CARE if I didn't use the same handset for 24 months str...

This means if you were say 1 year into your two year contract, and your phone broke, and you upgraded "early" with a new act price on the new phone, then it would re start your date.

I have changed my handset probably 40-50 times in the past year and my ne2 is still the same.

Thanks bros (wfine and lap). I think you're both right, assuming I don't get a 'rules retard' when I go to upgrade later this week. 😳

Shouldn't happen as the change you did didn't get you any discounts on a phone. In that case the NE2 date specified in the order system wouldn't have changed.

You can get a discount on a phone yearly if you have a plan of $50 or higher. Im eligible for an upgrade at the two year price now, and then next summer I will have my new every two discount.
