I was wondering if VZW was going to be getting the Blackberry Curve or Pearl anytime soon? I really dont care too much for the 8830 World Edition. Thanks 🙂 Also, why are their data plans so high? I am with at&t and their data plans are cheaper. Thanks 🙂

Yes verizon is getting the curve hopefully around Sept, the curve that is currently on ATT is 2G dial up speeds and on an inferior network. Verizon charges 44.99 but thats for EVDO 3G speeds and has better coverage than ATT. You get what you pay for 🙂 🙂

Everyone keeps talking about Verizon's data being $44.95. Has anyone looked at the bundled plans? The most expensive on those is $40 for data and gets down as low as at least $30 if not lower on the higher ones. You actually can't just get the $44.95 feature very easily anymore... if you do, you won't get the equipment discount.

Cool beans so you get the best network, and data that is affordable, you can't say that about ATT.

which one is it $30 on?

The 1350 min plan is 109.99 with the bundle. That's only $30 for the data. All the ones from 1350 on up are that way.

How certain is this release of the Curve in Sept. (or anywhere around that time)? I am very close to purchasing a BB myself and would hate to pick up the 8830 and have the Curve come out just a short time after. I messed around with the 8830 a bit last night and, while it is an amazing piece of technology, it's a bit too straight business for me. I'd like to have the options available on the Curve vs. the 8830.

I would hold off for the Curve that info is from BG, (http://www.boygeniusreport.com/) and while verizon is the only one who knows the real score I'm sure it is somewhat on target date 🙂

I guess I'll just have to wait a few months before pulling the trigger on anything. If it doesn't end up being released, then no harm as I'll just buy the 8830. If it does come out.....!!!

Thanks for the info and the quick reply!

I am in the same boat....I have the BB8830 now but as someone mentioned, it is too "business". I don't use the "enterprise" email and really don't use the internet plan too much....I just really love the "Pearl" trackball! Once you get used to using the trackball feature, you will not want to get another phone that does not have the track ball. I am waiting for the 8830 as well. While i just re upped last month, my vzw rep. said that he'll set me up w/ a new BB curve when it comes out and he said i can return my 8830!
