Detailed coverage maps

I just received in store a 12 page brochure of coverage maps that I can distribute to customers.

It goes into detail of upstate NY, southern New England, Vermont/NH/Maine, Washington D.C/Virginia/Baltimore, Philly tri-state, and New York Metro.

My god I don't understand why people complain about not getting coverage in these areas. These maps are so detailed that I can pick any city from the map and tell you if you have digital coverage or what have you. Especially upstate new york.

Yeah, I got those maps yesterday or the day before. You can pretty much see couty by county which areas have coverage and which don't. They are very detailed!

Are these maps available on the Verizon website?

It appears to be about the same thing available here:
http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/Coverage »

That site also appears to be very specific.

Is this a nationwide thing that VZW is starting to do, or is it just in your area? 'cuz it'd obviously be really helpful if it all the Verizon stores were doing it everywhere.

Wow, that's pretty nice. Hope they're doing it in my neck of the woods (Northern Cal).

VZW must be pretty confident in their coverage if they're giving out uber-detailed maps to customers... could this be a move to counter some of Cingular's recent coverage claims?

Not sure... I wondered if it had something to do with the Assurance of Voluntary Compliance thing. We got a memo last week about it. It says that Verizon Wirless, Sprint, & Cingular all entered in to this agreement with 32 states.

It's just a guess on my part. The memo about the Assurance of Compliancy thing really doesn't tell me much. It does seem like it deals with advertising and coverage maps though.

The AoC is from some whiny little wireless customer that got roaming charges in an area that didn't have service. All the carriers have a disclaimer that says "Not all areas are covered" or some BS like that.

This whiny little customer got in with a lawyer and some judges to get other whiny little customers to bring up a lawsuit vs all the major wireless players.

Basically we should of shot that customer. 😛

Anyways on another note I'm glad that the stores are getting their regional area brochures like this. This helps loads in showing coverages, including cities, etc.
