I am in a stump
Whats up everyone! ok heres the deal. Ive been working for VZW for a while now and just got a laptop. I need to get it connected to the internet and vzw gives us a great price on broadband access. I just dont know what I want to sync it up with. I can either go Blackberry 8830 or I can get an aircard. same price but I know you can do more with a blackberry. I just dont want to be that guy who carries around two devices. I do know that the Blackberry is a little faster than the card too but I am just kind of torn. So if anyone out there has an opinion of what i should do, please let me know.
...
don't you mean the card is faster than the blackberry?
blackberry = EV-DO rev. 0
aircard = EV-DO rev. A
...
Oh yeah your right. Blackberries arent rev a. i forgot. well either way, do you have an opinion
...
hmmm the advantage of the bb is that its global capable and you can use it for voice if you need to
but Rev. A is noticeably faster than Rev. O
what fits your needs best?
...
Well Im not gonna need the global capability and I cant sync it up with work email. And I already have a cell phone. I guess I will just pick up the aircard now. I know soon VZW is rolling out a new program where we get to use a PDA of our choice for a month. The we send it back for another. Kind of like a netflix for PDA's. So maybe I will just hold off on the BB for now. Thanks.

I believe that your question is sorta apples to oranges. Rather than look at the technology equation, why not better examine the anticipated useage?
In other words, if you are a person who gets important email 24x7x365, a Blackberry is probably the best choice for you, unless you want to carry a laptop with you EVERYWHERE you go, which poses its own problems, especially in cold or hot conditions, or if you travel to crime ridden areas.
On the other hand if your email need is not this constant, you get a lot of file attachments and you prefer html messages, the aircard is probably your best choice.
