Turned Off EVDO on My Sammy 540 to Improve Battery Life... Any Drawbacks?

Other than losing VCast (which I don't have as part of my plan anyway), any drawbacks to what I did (turning off the EVDO)?

I hear that you might as well turn off the EVDO if you're not using it... improves the battery life. My Sam 540 has the extended batt, and seems to be doing fine there (had the phone 2 days and I'm still at 3 bars on the battery) but like they say, you can never be too rich, too thin, or have too much battery life. 😎

PS- I don't have the VZ Navigator service, but its something I may try in the future... will it work over 1xrtt, or must EVDO be on?

Unless you're on a fringe area constantly going in and out of EV I don't think it's going to make a difference to battery life.
