I know that forumns can have all kinds of speculations, guesses and misinformation in here, but I saw multiple posts on at least 3 different sites saying that Verizon was going to be releasing the Audiovox/UTstarcom VX6800 and the Samsung SCH-I760 today, but I'm looking at press releases and websites and I see nothing. Does anyone have any updated release information???????? Are these phones still coming or are they caught in the wash of that EVDO Qualcom/Broadcom patent dispute or what?
Can anyone help????
Thanks

You guys make up these dates out of thin air, and when they pass and nothing comes out you are suprised? Priceless 🤣
...
Some people make up dates out of the air other people post real info and then some other people just post worthless replies with no information or purpose so I guess it all comes full circle.
So is there anyone out there with any information regarding my original questions?
Thanks
...
I guess that's why VZW doesn't like to publish specific dates for specific things. There are always things that can push back a date...
The way I look at it, when it happens, it happens.
...
No big suprise anyway. The same thing happened with the Treo 755p and nada. Yes speculate and dream with release dates but don't rely on them. They're like a stripper, looks promising but in the end you know nothing's going to happen.

Bro, its not in infocenter/infomanager, nobody that works for Verizon has mentioned it, we dont have any info on it yet, once we do im sure somebody will leak it on here, just chill out for a while.
...
One, dates change
Two, we would see the phones appearing on testman site.
Three, VZW Reps would say "I see X phone in Infomanager going to launch on X date"
Things here never change... people always get disappointed about the rumors and the wait for a phone.
...
Thanks for the info. Curious though, I've never heard of the testman site. Do you have a URL for that?
on a side note, I know the Samsung SCH-I760 got FCC approval 3 to 4 months ago and just from previous track records, 3 tto 4 months after FCC approval is when the phone is typically released onto the market and that's why I was hopeful about today, but ohh well. I am just really hoping it doesn't get banned from import over that damn patent suit decision.

testman.verizonwireless.com. it's the test site for the main url and shows phone just about to go on the site. The test ZIP used to be 99999, but people say that doesn't work anymore.
...
Sweet, I've never heard of that site before, but I hit the URL and it let me in so I guess it's reading the zip code cookie I have on my machine from the regular site. Too bad there is no additional info in there, but as someone said ealier guess I'll just have to give it time

Interestingly, the 6700 is showing as out of stock on the Testman but not on other site. Could this mean the release is imminent???
Frankly, the whole idea of having to wait for a carrier to release a phone is ridiculous. The abuses by carriers and manufacturers like Apple and others are leading to a backlash at the FCC and the public in general.
...
I wouldn't hold your breathe on that one, The Samsung SCH-I730 has been out of stock for a month and a half, plus removed from the site and it still hasn't been released yet.
As for waiting for a carrier to release a phone being ridiculous, I don't know about that. I actually work for Verizon, but on the data side, IE FIOS, FIOS TV and some DSL testing (verizonWireless is a seperate entity and that's why I'm asking for info on here). Anyway, I can tell you from personal experience that some of the new equipment that manufacturers deliver to us, they swear is ready to be released but when we check it in our lab, in some cases the items can barely be considered beta versions. For example, A standard home router you can buy from Best Buy...

Points well taken Ashman, but I believe the free markets will force better testing my manufacturers or they will simply go away. I believe in a competitive environment that allows people to make choices and forces businesses to do better.

I'm in Chicago and we don't have Verizon DSL. I heard alot about FIOS and i hope it comes to Chicago soon, i'm stuck with At@t and Comcast. My question is, do you see any possible integration in the future between Verizon FIOS and Verizon wireless phones?
...
I can't really reveal any info on that (I don't have a road map or any dates) but I can tell you that is the way the whole industry is headed. Consumers want to be able to access there content wherever and whenever they want and I think you'll see more & more companies addressing that need....especially if they want to stay competitive. It's all a question of how it's going to be implemented and how long it takes to design, engineer, test and roll out.

End of July for the 6800 ive heard.
