ATTN: Corp Store Employees

Do you have the ability to apply any in-store purchases to a customer's bill? I am in the agent market, and we were told that they got rid of the ability to put any purchases on your wireless bill that was done in a corp store. We just had a customer come in and chew our butts because we don't have the ability to apply any purchases on to his monthly bill, said he was going to go somewhere that could. I wanted to yell back good luck, but I couldn't remember if Corp put their foot down about that or not. I am in the IL/WI market. Just curious.....

You should have said "Yes mam, you can either pay the $19.99 for the car charger, or they can bill your account for their $29.99 version of t he same thing, oh you need a battery too? OK, its 29.99 here or 49.99 there"

Just out of curiosity, what about the reps at *611? If you upgrade a phone or something with them, will they give you the option to apply the charges to your monthly bill?

The only way for telesales to take payment is to charge it to a customers bill, existing customers only. You can not activate and then bill it to a new customers account, that's been gone for years now.

As for corp stores. They are not supposed to bill to the account. But for customer satisfaction reasons it happens. But in the PNW region its supposed to be done only by a manager.

A lot of sales reps were ordering accessories and billing it to the customers accounts to inflate their metircs.

When it comes to personal account, VZW stores CAN NOT bill to the account. Businesses are different. There are certain criteria they have to meet before you can do it like X amount of months with Verizon, no past due for so many months and then there is a dollar limit. I can get specifics if you would like??????

well, I have a personal account and I have them charge it to my account all the time. I got $400 worth of phones at one time and had it charged to my account. So that criteria must be for personal accounts as well.

I go in and get a car charger and tell them to bill it to my account, few minutes later, walk out and pay it when my bill comes in next month.

And some of us have employee discounts that bring the price of verizon's accessories down to the same level as agents. and with us using verizon's sold accessories on the phones, if anything happens, verizon cant point fingers at aftermarket chargers, ect, and yes I know verizon's are aftermarket, but sold by them and backed by them. No offense to agents, but agents come and go an...

I have a comment on the agent thing. I'm an agent and I do sometimes replace thing but I get so tired of doing it for free. We get nothing from Verizon if we replace a car charger or any other accessory. I have no way of getting money back from Verizon for that product. Do you know how often people have things that are broken and want a replacement? I'd be broke if I gave in to them all.

I understand your situation. That is why I made sure I said not all agents.

It would suck to be a small agent and have to compete with big V, the corp and telesales get to do things the agents dont get to do, and that is so they get the customers to do the contract thru them and not have to pay the agent to do it. I understand all that.

But understand the customers point also. With employee discounts we are able to go to a corp. store and buy an item for around the same price and know that verizon will replace it if it breaks within a year. The agent is a maybe, and that is if the agent is still there. We know verizon is going to still be there next year.

It would suck to be a verizon dealer. The company you are selling fo...

Oh, I agree. We usually have the same prices as Verizon at my store. The GZone Type V was one exception because of the price of that thing. We never did carry it. Now we do have the Type S and can offer it for the same price as Verizon.

In the South Area, it is prohibited. Different billing systems up north but I know it SHOULD NOT be done anywhere down here. Telesales is your only possibility but I believe they only do credit/debit over the phone.

Were you In-Store, or did you do it over the phone? I'm asking if it can be done with In-Store purchases.

Where at in Ohio? For the last 4 or so years I have always been told that no corp store could bill to account. I even know people that work at corp stores that tell me the same thing. Even agents could bill to account back in the day, but I thought they did away with it in all stores.
