Hey guys,

In case you're wondering, I'm an Ops Manager for a new indirect dealer. I heard about the 20-month upgrade from Phonescoop (heard nothing from my Account Manager) and I called in COOS to see if I could do a 2-line upgrade for a customer whose lines were not eligible under the 22-month but is under the 20-month.

The answer? Well COOS knew all about the 20-month upgrade but it's only available for direct stores. The customers really wanted the phones today so guess what happened?

My conscience won out. I sent them to the Direct Store rather than make them wait 10 days.

I mean it's cool that VZW throws out a bone for us by giving us the Motorola W385 before the Direct stores and pricing them in such a way on the websit...

I thought indirects were able to offer 20-month upgrades and NE2s as of July 16? Wtf?

Well that's a kicker. Some indirects are allowed to do 20-monthers and some aren't.

VZW is really screwing the pooch lately. And by 'pooch', I do not mean jrfdsf's mom. Though I do need to put some water in her dish.

🤣

You must not have been working for them too long, if you had then you would be use to talking it in the ass by Verizon, its a daily occurence for us indirects.

Its unfortunate, but true... VZW hates the indirects. Its an unspoken law per say in the call centers and in the practices. I was an indirect store manager, then went to Cust Servc call center after being run into the ground due to have 3 Direct stores within a mile from my store. I left due to stress...

But while there, it was well known to everyone, VZW does not like the indirect channel. They look at them as competition and they must be beaten... sad.

Its really changed a lot in the midwest over the past few years. I don't really look at the direct stores as competition anymore. We can pretty much do anything they can now.

I never looked at them as competition, they looked at us as such. I wanted to see what it was like "inside" so I got the CS call center job.

Honestly, I would go either way again... excpet I can't handle the stress anymore... LOL 🤣

Yeah I work for an indirect agent in the PNW (Pacific North West). I personally have had 3+ customers stolen by the csr's. I will call in because the customer cannot remember the password and next thing I know the csr is like "they want that much for that phone, we can sell it to you for this price" and I have a customer who is using OUR land line to purchase a phone through the CSR. I know that they hate us but like it was said earlier I wish it was all a level playing field. The only thing that we have an advantage for in our store is the nearest direct store is 1 hour away.

Here in the South an indirect is worse than competition. They're seen as a disease. 👿 Darn, polio virus.

From what is sounds like you mean by a level playing field would require price fixing which is not legal..

VZW uses set prices for their stores to charge, indirects often charge less. For example you cant get a free phone from a VZW store, but you can from most indirects.

Sure VZW might charges less for some models, chances are those would be the ones currently on "sale" as VZW normally has one brand of phone cheaper than the other brands during each pricing period, and indirects will have trouble matching that price. On that same note you can beat the direct stores prices on the other brands of phones.

Well, the indirect people are not alone..... all the indirects take it in the ass from there respective carriers, and CS hates all the indirects at every carrier.. I guess its just the industry standard
