DoubleHelix

This is more of a TEC question but here goes:

1. I had a relatively new RAZR V3M with the 5.99 insurance.
2. Decided I wanted an LG 8700 and did a 10 month early upgrade.
3. Moved the insurance to the 8700
4. RAZR still in my posession and has not been activated on anyone elses account.

Ok all is well so far....lol

If I want to switch back to the RZ

Sorry about that, I hit send instead of backspace so here is the entire message:

If I want to switch back to the RAZR for 5 days I know I can go online and do the swap of ESN's, dial *228 1 and all is back to the RAZR for the time being.

Question of the day:

When I return and switch the ESN back to my LG 8700, what happens to the TEC insurance I am currently carrying on the 8700 during the week It is "resting...

Your insurance would stay with the 8700 I'd think. Your RAZR is no longer insurable (except to the extent that any other policy exists still). Asurion basically has a time limit on how long you have to process a claim. E.g., if Phone A is stolen on Jan 1, I activate Phone B on Jan 2 as a replacement... I have 60 days (or something like that, I'm not 100% sure) to file a claim on Phone A since the incident date. However, if I recover Phone A, theoretically, it's still insured as long as I reactivate it on the same line within the policy coverage.

Call asurion to make sure.

legally, VZW can't tell you for sure how it'd apply to that case. They're not insurance agents.

Thank you. i called Asurion and he said that the insurance would stay with the phone till I told Verizon Wireless to stop insuring it.

When I get back in town, I just swap the ESN back and all continues the same as before.

Thanks

The insurance stays on whatever phone is on the line at the time, if you switch to the razr or the 8700, whichever it currently activated at the time.

I agree with wfine here. Whatever phone is active on the account at the time is the one covered. Maybe shouldn't work that way but it does.

is it possible to have 2 phones activted on the same line? I may want to use a razr one day, and my env the next. granted this is without switching esn's.

The insurance stays with the active line. Lets say you carry a Q during the week, a RAZR on the weekends and a GZ'One when hiking or boating, like I do.

Do the online ESN swap and the active phone is covered. The ones in your drawer are not covered for theft, but can be for warranty.

well u could add another line and get a different number and then forward them to each other. Like one day when u feel like using your enV then u could have ur calls from ur razr number forwarded to your env.
