What was my opinion of the XV 6700 compared to the LG Chocolate?
(DUMB QUESTION TO BEGIN WITH)
My honest answer,
"Well I cannot say I have an opinion on either not having used the phones." First I explain how the two on different sides of the spectrum And I proceeded to give her the general info on those phones.
Why can't she send and receive files via Bluetooth?
"Verizon Wireless disables file transfer on most phones."
Why.
"So you can purchase them."
(Again honest answer)
Can I just buy a phone on Ebay unlocked and have you guys activate it?
"I can only suggest purchasing direct from Verizon Wireless."
...so can I?
"I can onl...

2)Bluetooth is the least secure form of information transfer since gossip, and we value your security as much as you do. (BS answer but it works)
3)Unlocked phones are only legal in the GSM standard, not CDMA.
4)Only buy a phone from Verizon because it has a warranty. Buy it from anywhere else and it's as-is "No Warranty."
All these answers work, are truthful and completely disarming. Remember it's your tone that sells it. 😉
remember, it's your tone that sells it...
priceless!
I think that you need a diff job altogether... if you're attempting to sell phones through an IM window, there is little if any "connection", and that is what grabs many people; even over the phone would be better.
I work in a Verizon Wireless call center. If you visit the website right now, eventually, a window will pop up asking if you would like to chat with us. It is an "online pre'sales department."
MOST of the best deals through Verizon directly, are online. It makes sense to have someone there to guide you through the site.
Which was one of her problems. She never asked me where anything was or how to navigate the site....argh!!
Phones that are used on Verizon Wireless are not locked. It's the network that is locked. This is different than GSM. If you bought a CDMA phone on eBay and it wasn't programmed for Verizon Wireless, the ESN won't be on the "White List" and will not be accepted by the system.
1) explain the reason for the pricing... "ma'am/sir, the actual price of the phone costs $xxx.xx the house charger and the battery are all $xx.xx each. By placing you on a two year contract, we can initially lose money on what we pay for the phone to make the price much better for you to purchase"
2) Verizon wants each and every one of its employees to take initiative and make those customer life-long customers. That's how I get 90% of my business. I can't count how many customer have sent their ENTIRE FAMILY to me ...

Just so you know, I've been doing this job for about 6 months. It sucks. It really sucks. There's no actual commission involved. So, store sales reps, please do not compare this job to yours, because it is completely different. Imagine dealing with three people at once... with chat lingo. Translating chatter to information gets tiring. TRUST me.

You're right, it's a damn dumb question, but that's the thing. Not everyone communicates the same way online; everyone ...

I of course agree that this job is harder than selling a phone in person...store reps have it good...
1.) We can't refer the customers to PhoneScoop. Only page on the VZW website or tell them (in a nice way) to do some research...Nor can we quote prices because they change so frequently. We either refer them to My Account or give them the link where the prices would be listed...
2.) When it is someone who isn't eligible for an upgrade, there is not an advantage to order online.
3.) I getcha about the occurances. I was referring to what I have been told is "an attitude"...lol I WILL get fired for that cause I have a quick tempter. They seem to get really bol...
