Do I Have 15 Or 30 Days to Return An NE2 Phone?

SystemShock

To any reps:

Sigh. I'm lovin' my Sammy 540 in most every way, but the speakerphone echo issue is driving me NUTS (or rather, my friends and family nuts, since they're the ones who get the severe echoing).

I may be returning this bad boy, sadly. Too bad, 'cuz I really liked the phone in all other aspects. But I use speaker a lot. đŸ˜ĸ

So, what happens? Do I have 15 days from the purchase to return my NE2 phone, or 30 days? When I bring it back, do they just give me my money back and cancel the 2-year contract extension? My plan is not to try another phone immediately, but rather to forget about the whole NE2 thing for now, and wait for the LG 8350 to come out, then try that.

Is that kosher, or will they insist that I'v...

Cool!

Is it exchange only, with no 'return it and go for NE2 later on'? Or can I truly 'just return it'?

I got it at a VZW corp store.

You should be able to return it but there is a very big possibility that your dates won't get changed back in the computer. When you finally do decide to go back for your upgrade you may run in to some hassle. If so you'll have to explain everything to them and have them research your account to see the equipment was returned. Keeping a return recept would be a good idea.

I use the speaker phone constantly too, I have the razr maxx and it works extremely well....no echoing. Maybe give it a shot I'm sure you'll be very pleased.

Hmm... I tried the Maxx in the store, and while I thought it was pretty cool, the speakerphone sound quality wasn't good IMO. It sounded very 'digital' or robotic.

I dunno... maybe there ISN'T a speakerphone that gets it all right. Even my old Nokia 6256i (a very good phone) had a mediocre speakerphone on it- not much echoing, but it wouldn't go loud and sound quality over speaker so-so at best.

huh well maybe it was just that phone, i can only go by how well mine works..it's very loud and crystal clear and noone has ever complained about any echoing. the build quality of the maxx is great, loud ringers and the extended battery looks great with it. plus you can use the speaker phone closed which is s must for me. well just thought i throw it out there...the way i see it is just swap it out and give it a try you can return it all the same.

Your able to read and respond through your phone? LG8700? What kind of browser? WAP, Opers, or some other XHTML browser? I'm curious, because of the VZW BREW platform. 😕

Yeah, that message was posted on the 8700, I have also posted on the GZone, and 8300, nothing tricky at all, just Mobile Web 2.0

Wow, I guess the BREW platform is different. My web browser 2.0 (WAP) shows a WAP site, not XHTML. I'm going to a VZW store to see VZW BREW url's. Thanks.

8700 - Totally gorgeous, as you say, but a lot of ppl hate the battery life on this phone. Could go extended batt with it, but that kinda ruins the 'look' on this particular phone. 😕

8300 - I REALLY liked the speakerphone on this one. The only negatives: it's a bit of a tank, and no speaker with flip closed.

Am hoping the 8350 gets rid of at least one of those negatives without ruining any of the 8300's positives. 👀

Question: Does the 8300 speakerphone have any significant echo or feedback issues, in your experience?

If the 8350 drags ass gettin' released, I may end up goin' 8300.

I dont think the 8700 battery life is that much of a drag, the battery last on average 2 days between charges, where as the 8300 last 3-4 days.

But for me as long as it last at least 1 day its fine with me, I can always charge it when I go to be at night.

As far ass the echo, I have never had any problem or heard of a problem with the speakerphone on the 8300.

shock you need to try the 8300 out for 30 days. it is by far the best verizon phone. and i dont know why you think it is such a tank...carry the gzone around for a while and then see what you think.

And about the speakerfone on the 8300, I have never had any complaints. It works PERFECTLY. Test drive it.

Well, be careful because you can only do 1 exchange within the 30 days, and its not 30 days for each phone, just a total of 30 days.

Yeah, exactly, which is why I'm going to 'just return' the 540, I think, and not exchange it to try out another phone.

Then I wait for the 8350 to release, try it out, if it doesn't work then I just give the 8300 a whirl under the 30 day thing. Unless this is against the rules somehow?

The only thing preventing me from going 8300 is the fact that the 8350 seems to be just around the corner.

Do you think it will be just like the 8300, only no external antenna/slightly improved, or do you think LG might change it a lot/frak it up? ☚ī¸

ya I guess I understand that. I think only time will tell you know.. if the 8350 can top the 8300, it will no doubt be worth the wait. i hope we find out more info soon.

i bought the 8300 in june of last year for full retail at $250. For that price id do it again in a second!

What can I say? I'm complicated. đŸ¤Ŗ

And if it makes you feel better, looks like I'm gonna wind up with either the 8300 or the 8350.

I'm not mad. Heck, even the rep at the VZW store tried to warn me away from the u540.

Its just kinda sad... the 540 is very good aside from the stupid speakerphone echo issue. I can't imagine what Samsung was thinking there.

It's like boldly snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. đŸ˜ŗ
