Over the past few weeks, my girlfriend has been looking into international cell phone plans. At the Verizon Wireless Web site, she had an online chat with a sales representative. I feel compelled to share this verbatim transcript:
A Verizon Wireless online pre-sales specialist has joined the chat. You are now chatting with chelsea.

That was not a smart answer, true enough, but I would appreciate if you didn't make that assumption on all representatives. Just because she doesn't know Asia is a continent does not mean we all are that dumb. I am well informed of Verizon Wireless product and service knowledge (as well as geography) and have been told so by customers. So if you feel the need to say someone is poorly trained and doesn't care about their job, please keep it in reference to "Chelsea."

There is no reason for just plain ignorance. I work for VZW and if that was in fact a true conversation, I'm embarrased...not just as a VZW employee, but as an educated person in general.
The issue you pointed out is not exclusive to VZW...as these very forums point out. Look at some of the appalling use (actually mis-use) of the English language. There, their, they're and many other "basics" of 4th grade English class.
As for your arrogant comment, I've seen it at every other carrier, so saying it about VZW really doesn't make it so...

what I dont understand is this is his girlfriend, and he is an agent for verizon, why was he not looking this info up for her from verizon. I know if it was my girlfriend, I would have been looking up the info for her, making sure she got the best deal available, but that is me.

in Verizon's defense how many websites have a chat rep jump on to try to help you out? I know she was of no help, but atleaste someone came on and tried to help. Chelsea, though not to smart, was just trying to help
