Data Plan Price

monkula

I am thinking about getting a PDA/Smartphone but can't seem to find out how much the data plan would be. I went to verizon's site but all it gave me was prices for data & voice. I do not need both, I am part of a family plan and need to know how much to add data just to my line. Thanks for any help I can get!

just add data on what? a PDA? I dont know if you can get data only on a PDA but if you can it would probably be around 49.99
If you get it with voice its 44.99. if you combo it with your calling plan (IE americas choice w/ email plans) it will usually be 40$ or less )

add on is 45 bucks and it wont change your current family plan, its easy and it can be taken off anytime you feel like it. just call 611 to verify.

Don't get me started on the 5GB thing. I had a guy return his aircard cause he can't D/L movies with his P2P software.

I had to tell him we're sorry that we couldn't service you but VZW is taking a stance toward preventing copyright protecting theft and at currnet this is the only measure we have available.

In other word's: Stop stealing!!!
If you're D/L that much music off of Itunes a month, then you need a price.

But, yeah, if you are legitamately using that much bandwidth then we should do something for our customers.

guy walked by my kiosk one time, just walking by and told me my service sucks and his company switched their 20+ PDAs to sprint. I asked why as I don't mind defending my company.

"Cause my guys and I kept getting shut off cause your "unlimited" internet isn't really unlimited."

"Really? what were you guys using them for that needed that much bandwidth?"

"well we were all using it to watch slingbox."

"I'm sure that was a priority of your company sir, have a good night."

while I agree 5gb is allot and more then enough for 99% of the people its still not what is advertised. That is great they take a stance on whatever it is that makes it a cap of 5gb. So change your plan to 5gb of data for whatever price. I haven't looked in a while but that was my only probelm with it. Unlimited means a certain thing. And if I got a bill from my cable provider because I used say 10000000 gb I would still be pissed as it is unlimited!

There is nothing misadvertised here. You will NOT get a bill for using more than 5GB.

But you will get terminated early. Do you understand the difference?

People come in to my store to b**** all the time that they can't add a $9.99 extra line to their $39.99 plan but then I point out the fine print and that's that.

Don't start talking about false advertising until you've read the whole advertisement, fine print and all.

I feel what you're saying, but why don't they just call it a 5GB plan? I know I can read, but you know most of America can't!

I don't care if they don't charge you. It says unlimited but its not. So you use it too much and then you have to look for another carrier which will cost you money no matter how you look at it! Yes I agree with choclote why not call it the 5gb plan. Simple and to the point!

I'm not against calling it a 5GB plan at all but for the sake of exercise (and because I have to deal with customers) I'll play Evil Corporate Empire's advocate here! 😎

On a "5GB plan," there would be overage charges. Also, there's no guarantee they will terminate you the first time you do it although I can believe it if people are terminated the first time.

The problem is that streaming and downloading porn is prohibited in the Terms and Services but how is VZW going to know that you're streaming or downloading porn without loading spyware into your computer? So instead they have that 5GB quota which should be a lot higher imo.

If you do more than 5GB doing things that aren't prohibited in the T&S, like maybe a lot of work wi...

sorry but they know exactly what your downloading. Any ISP knows exactly were anyone goes. That is not the problem the problem is spectrum or lack there of for verizon.

its pretty cut and dry for me, verizon is the best those are just the facts....look here are your options tmobile 🤣 nuff said there...then you have 15 dollar data with sprint,i think everyone in the world knows how sub par their network and cs are..then att static city with just slightly less expensive data and not as much coverage. your choice but for 45 you get great 3g data coverage, the best cs. your choice.

I am sorry but I will give voice to verizon overall. But data sprint gets. They have more cities coverd by evdo and give unlimited data. They even encourage you to download movies and tv and stuff.

But I will defend verizon in that they do this to curb usage. They jsut don't have the spectrum.

I'd agree, that does seem quite high. Verizon could be more competitive on pricing here.

It's the highest in the industry. Of course the choice you have is to go to another carrier. Most are unwilling really especially those with family plans.

They actually have changed the name of it to an umlimited email plan. It says data is unlimited for email. I'd say going over 5GB in email in a month is pretty much impossible.
