i'm still in my 15 day trial of the lg 6100... noticed today the price drop and buy one get 3 free... called verizon, told to go to retail store, they would refund then re-charge me at the new promo rate... called verizon store-- was informed that i would have to return the phone and all manuals, and box, etc and be issued new phones (2 total on family share). ARGH... raised question about that to salesperson. salesperson said to call customer service and see what they could do.... nothing like the good ol runaround..! anyway.
called customer service again. explained to agent that i bought the phones when they were 149.99 before rebate (2) now they were buy one get 3 free (first one 99.99 before rebate, each ohter one would be 49.99) and as...

Maybe they were hesitant to issue the credits because you didn't purchase the equipment directly via Customer Care. For instance, if you purchased over the phone with Telesales, you should have been contacting them for your price reduction within 15 days. I know that it is standard policy to honor the pricing if it goes down.

It's not unusual to get the runaround, but when you finally get to the right person, it IS unusual for them to give you a hard time about it.

I work in the Telesales division of VZW and I didn't know about the equipment promotion's until about half way though the day. (I DO go in at noon, though...so I have an excuse)But maybe that Care Rep did TOO.

ARGH? You're upset for something we are doing you a favor for? I would of made you return the phones, I don't think it's a hassle to get new phones especially if it would save you $150.

I hate it when companies ask something from their customers like returning a phone, companies should be giving out money left and right.

I truly do apologize that you did not get to hear what you wanted to hear, we as well as other cell companies are trying to reach perfection in customer service.

it wasnt about me being upset... just a pain to have to return the phone and every little part in the box and be given a new one, only to have to re-install the contacts and download the ringers, etc. i would have hoped one could have just returned the phones and repurchased same phones, but guess for it to work that couldnt happen

regard;ess pf what you are promised by phone I would keep your eyes on the 15 day return deadline and not let that expire. I would also email them with your understanding of the final commitment they agree to so that it is somewhere in writing (stating that if their understanding is different they need to contact you immediately).

On that tip, I wonder what would happen if you asked the store you were activating through to sign a contract you had drawn up that specified all the details of what you had been told you could get. They'd probably ban you for life.

Well that would not be able to change your plan because that would mean Verizon broke that contract...

virtually any promise made upon sign up would be provided for in the general agreement that VZW had already drawn up. For any substantive changes to that agreemetn I would most definately get it in writing. Without it in writing it is useless noise.

I deal with agreements every day and I am often working with those who work off in part verbal agreements. Well sorry folks the court will uphold written agreements or those verbal agreements that can be proven.

If it is important to you get it in writing if it is not important than leave it oral.

I would not expect a store to sign off on an agreement including promises that they did not make. If the store reps offered promises than you bet I would expect them to sign off on it.

In the time each of you took to over think this matter, rant and rave etc, I returned to the company store on E86th Street in Manhattan with receipt and without LG6100 that I paid 149.99 just last week. The customer service desk could not have been any nicer in crediting my card $50.
