Buying Advice

Rekralc

Sep 2, 2007, 11:34 PM
I'm looking into buying a PDA and I'd like some seasoned advice from Verizon Veteran's.

Person Preferences:
NOT palm
Touch screen
Qwerty pad

I will use this device mostly as a planner and for internet service on the go.

I've had my eye on the treo 700wx but I'm still new to the company and everyday I find out about a new phone soon to come out.

I also liked that the treo 700wx offered software that would translate my handwriting into text.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

I currently use the Palm Treo 700wx and don't get me wrong it is an excellent phone, but I would hold out for something that has Windows Mobile 6. It is supposed to be much easier to use and doesn't have nearly as many flaws as Windows Mobile 5. The 1st phone coming out with this OS is Samsung i760 on September 10. 😁

P.S. don't buy that persons 6700, its a peice of crap and has been out for over 2 years! it's probably stolen or something.

its not stolen i got it at the store and have my receipt from it and absolutley nothing is wrong w it i just want my picture mail back and the only way i can do that is if i pay an extra 24.99 a month and i dont want to pay more when i already have the $10 pack. so i wanna go back to a regular phone. bc i dont use the internet so im not going to pay 24.99 a month for something i wont use.

PDAs do NOT require a data package to send picture messages. If you already have the $10 pack you should already have this feature on your device.

then something is wrong with verizon...they can't just make up a company policy on the fly. If you're phone will not accept pix messaging. TELL THEM TO FIX UR PHONE! That it what you should be doing, not trying to peddle your used phone for a brand new env.

Which by the way is a terrible deal, because the non contract price of an env is over $300 and i believe and you can get a used 6700 for around $150

soooo....really you should be giving the buyer your 6700 and about $150 bucks and they give you the enV...why on earth someone would buy the enV and then fork over another $80 for a used phone is ridiculous. The person would be much better off getting the env, selling it, then using the profit to buy a used 6700.

Just sell your ph...

Ok here is some info for ya...and I am not trying to be rude, but you do not have to pay the 24.99 for data, but it is true if you have the data block on you will not beable to send pix messages, and that is because the internet and pix messages run off the same network, which is yes different then Verizon's voice network. Also you can do a pay as you go feature for data which is 0.005/KB, which this will allow you to beable to send and recieve pix msgs without paying the extra 24.99, also it does not charge for KB usage when you send a pix message however...let me know if you have any questions.

ok three reps at verizon told me i could either do the pay as you go (which i amnot paying for additional charges when i pay the $10 a month to have UNLIMTED pics and video vzw-vzw, if i have to pay its not unlimited..) and they told me the only other way to do it would be the 24.99. now all i want is my pics and video back and if you can tell me exactly what to tell them then i will call them up right now and get it but i dont want to pay more for a feature that is unlimited already.

This is what you would say:

Please take off the package for 24.99, and put on the pay as you go feature for data, that is it...and your picture messages would work fine...that is it.
