Tired of VZW Phone Selection
Anyone have any reception experience with Cingular in the Huntsville, AL area?

I have been a loyal VZW customer since 1997. I saw the new Motorola MPX displayed on this web site with a PDA and Qwerty keyboard in a reasonable form factor. I would love to get this phone, but once again it is only offered in GSM. I am seriously considering changing carriers. I have been happy with my VZW service and reception but want more from my phone. I use my phone for text messaging and calendar functions at work, I also use Get It Now daily.

No offense, but why would you ask that last question in the Verizon forum?
Try the Treo 600 or the Samsung i600. Or a Blackberry.
Actually, VZW was formed...

I600 is a nice phone but no Bluetooth again and I would prefer a Qwerty keyboard.
Excuse me, I didn't remember the year that VZW was formed. I was a GTE customer prior to that.
As far as my question about Cingular, I believe it is a valid question. I look through most of the forums not just the VZW forum. I'm sure other people do too. I will probably post it in the Cingular forum also.
Weight: 5.9 ounces..must smaller than some phones actually. No bluetooth, though...
VZW is very slow with bringing on new phones and that is my biggest gripe with them. I do prefer their practice as I see it as a consumer:
1. Let Sprint and the other carriers work through the bugs and then offer the phone after the fixes are in place. (See the Treo 650 memory fiasco.)
2. Enable customers to activate non-VZW phones but don't support them if their phones break down. This lets those who are willing to live on the bleeding edge to use the newer technology.
3. Fully support the phones they do provide.
4. Replace phones which are defective within 2 business days. Most Smartphones have quality problems.
I just wish they'd get through their "rigorous testing" in less than 9 mo...

It's a tad bit bigger than the treo, but like other people said, the treo is not that big
I don't know when it's coming out
