As a Verizon rep, I must say I'm not very clear on this phone either, but that's probably because you didn't tell us which phone it is. 🤣

Info on what, specifically?

By the way, VZW reps push LGs because in most cases they are the better device.

I mean no harm to any verizon rep. Just the few that I talked to had no information on this product at all.

If you do, that's great! I'd love to hear it. I just wanted to know about the rebate and the color of the darn thing! Some people are saying brown and some saying black. Which is it or are there two different colors available in different areas?

Also, LG may be a great brand. I love their appliances, but their cell phones FOR ME were not good. I had such a problem with the LG's that I had previously owned. My sons have lg's and love them.

Honestly, no offense was meant by my posting!

Apparently it must be in different colors. All I have seen personally is bronze/brown. Others have said theirs is silver/black. My only conclusion is that there must be different colors.

Give it time. No doubt that every month a new color will appear. And yes, you can probably get a Pink one for Valentines day! 🤣 🤣 🤣

Being a former employee of an old electronic's store back in 91/92 called Nobody Beats the Wiz (though everybody did), I can tell you that the main reason VZW reps push LG is most likely bigger profit margins/commissions and less likelihood to be shopped by other carriers.

1) Profit: I dont know if the reps make comission or spiffs on phones. But back in my day I was instructed to push JVC branded VCRs over SONY and Panasonic cause they yielded higher margins and gave me larger spiffs (per item commissions). So I always talked up the JVC and talked down the Sony. (However if you visited my home I had a great Sony that I loved). So being Motorola has a larger phone penetration, I would assume the more competitive LG would offer their phon...

I take it your a sales rep. Looks like the VZW brainwashing sales camp got to you good. I have heard once you get sucked into all the propaganda theres no way out. You believe everything they tell you.

Just look at all the other sales drones. Everyone in this forum that goes to any sales rep across the country and asks about the upcoming release date of the Sammy i760 all get the same response from you drones... "I know nothing about that phone. Its not in our system. Never heard of it..."

Common people. WAKE UP! You are all brainwashed by Adolf Verizler!!

Do you all march in sync too?

Well most reps don't know about the i760 because we do not have any info on it. I know about it because of websites like this. So how is that being brainwashed?

In addition, VZW very closely monitors what information is leaked to the public. People have been let go many a time for giving out proprietary info.

Maybe it isn't that they don't know, they just don't want to tell YOU.

E,

Thanks for your wise insight from 1991-1992. Unfortunately your completely wrong. There was no brainwashing that made me say that either. Its simply false that reps get paid differently by selling a certain manufacture of phone. In my experience, which goes back almost since you left the Wiz; reps would lean towards specific phones for 2 reasons. The first would be the current sales prices. I would imagine that happened in 1992 as well. The phones that get the advertising are sold the most. That is as much about the sales person as the consumer, they gravitate towards a perceived value. Also, personal experience of a sales rep goes a long way. When I was a sales rep, I sold what I trusted and liked. To a certain degree it was commissio...

Look we can carry and push whatever we want the whole profit margin thing is not right. If i want to sell 150 razr's a month I could and nobody would care, verizon does not care what phone we sell they care about getting high end activations and data features period. that is where the money is not phones.

Reps push Lg for one simple reason
Exluding the chocolate, Lg makes the best phones period. They may not always have the best rf, or the best battery, or features, but they have the fewest amount of defects and there is nothing a rep hates more than doing waranty exchanges all day long. Motorola has pathetic quality control. The razr has had close to a 100% defect rate at my store, why s high, well I have customers on their 3rd one, and...

As a Sales Rep for Verizon, I'm deeply offended that he'd imply that we sell LG phones because they're "cheap."

If you look at the personal phones of most Verizon employees, you'll see a vast majority of LG products. In my store location, we have 5 LGs, a Motorola, and a Samsung. With the exception of PDA users, nearly every Verizon employee buys a LG product with each upgrade. We do this because they're the best, they're the most reliable, they're the fastest, and they have the best feature integration.

There has never in my 1 year with the company been a spiff or commission payout on any handset - all Verizon employees make their money based on the following criteria - accessory dollar sales times a set multiplier (mine is 6%); and ...

1) I can't speak for everyone here but in over 5 years that I've been here, we have not made any extra on a specific phone. If you pay attention to prices they run specials on certain manufacturers every couple months. The rep does not make anything off of this but the customer gets a better price. And no this is not just LG, right now they are doing this for motos.

2) This is not why I push LG's but thats not a bad idea even though Lgs are in no way exclusive to verizon. Everything I've read is that lg's gsm phones suck.

I will push whatever phones that are good no matter the manufacturer. If the phone sucks I don't want the customer coming back and yelling at me, so why wouldn't I get them in a good phone to start with. It ju...

The first line of your post is all the Motos that have really sucked/had a lot of problems, right?

I see V265 up there and go, "Yup, that one was a total disaster." 😳

As a VZW direct rep I can tell you that we don't care what phone you purchase. Reps are paid on the plans, data features, and accessories. In my experience (which is two years worth), LGs tend to be the most consistent phones with the lowest rate of return. Most problems with the phones are fixed with a software flash as opposed to the charging port (old-school Motorolas). It's true LG gives VZW their best phones, however Nokia (now read Pantech) gives their best phones to other carriers. Each carrier seems to have their "flagship" brand. With VZW, LG puts out the best product. LG is also the company that developed VZW's UI (say what you will, not looking for a huge UI debate). LG is the easiest company for VZW to work with and they ...
