its a bad decision because Verizon is the #1 carrier where is Helio doesnt even have its own network, they use sprint(mostly) and sprints network sucks.

as for phones the LG VX10000 was just leaked (pics) and it probably wont be out for a good while (maybe early 0😎 but it should be worth waiting for!

whats wrong with the enV?...and as a general rule, switching to carriers for a phone is a foolish decision. But, thats just my two cents.

i might switch bc they are screwing me over. i loved them up until recently. i pay fr the insurance every month and tey wont replace my phone under warrenty and htats included in my insurance and i have never done an insurance claim. and i pay for unlimited vzw-vzw pic and video mail as part of my text package and my phone wont do it. so im paying for features i cant use and they wont help me. đŸ˜ĸ

It's kind of funny that you work for sprint but have Verizon service, but then again I work with Verizon Fios service and till a few months ago had a comcast cable modem. But anyway, to answer your question, I'm not sure it's a smart idea for you to switch to Helio. A friend of mine had there service in the Northern Va. area and he said the phone he had was awesome but the service was absolutely terrible. He ended up canceling the service but still wishes he was able to keep the Helio phone. In short a kick-ass phone is no substitue for a good cell network. Since Helio runs on CDMA, it would be nice if Verizon would pick up some of there phone models or similar but I doubt that will happen anytime soon.

Hope that helps

Forgot to mention that I'm a Smartphone user and I have the insurance on my phone but I've been reading more and more about people bad expierences with the insurance so I'm thinking I'll take my chances and cancel the insurance. I haven't had to file a claim so far, so maybe I'm better off saving that money and taking my chances.

I'm confused. Why can't you just take these features off your plan for the time being then add them again once you get a different phone that will take advantage of them?

Yeah. People that don't use even 25 of the features of a PDA/Smartphone shouldn't have one.

what problems? I had an insurance claim in March and it went very smoothly and saved me several hundred dollars. It's $5 a month and it is definitely worth it. It's easy to cancel now, but wait until you need it, and then you have to come out of pocket for a $400 phone.

Try them out and see if they work for you in your particular area. Do not fall for the number 1 network crap. They are great in most areas but they do have many areas where their service leaves more to be desired. Helio should have a 15 or 30 trial. Check them out and see if they will work for you. You also should take into consideration m2m calling and other features that your current carrier offers you that could be more beneficial to you than what Helio has to offer. In the end, it will not hurt you one bit to give them a test drive. You just might like them 😉

Helio is awesome where I'm at in Chicago, not to mention they use sprint service as primary but when sprint service is not available they roam on verizon. So for those people that say helio's service sucks here then they are basically saying verizon service sucks. Helio uses both sprint and verizon when needed. Get the unlimited plan for $119 and you cant go wrong. Wherever verizon works helio will too.....

Resellers like Helio use the VZW InPulse coverage so you don't get the whole red map that you see in the Americas Choice brochure, look at the map in the InPulse brochure. BE WARNED!

Lets be clear they work with sprint first. Just like sprint phones. Then if they can not get a sprint service they will roam on verizon! And I think they also roam with other carriers too. being that SDK backs them the other carriers know they will get paid.

This is absolutely false information... They use Sprint primarily but will roam anywhere verizon has coverage if needed.
