Verizon Wins JD Power Call Quality Survey... Again
Verizon Wireless performs particularly well in the study, ranking highest in four of the six U.S. regions examined, including ranking highest in a tie with Alltel in the Southeast region. U.S. Cellular also ranks highest in the North Central region, while AT&T ranks highest for the first time in the Southwest area. Study results by region are:
Northeast Region: Verizon Wireless ranks highest in the region, with fewer problems reported than the regional average with initial connections, echoes and voice distortion.
Mid-Atlantic Region: Verizon Wireless ranks highest for a sixth consecutive time, with fewer interference/static and echo problems experie ...

So my point is for every person that you find that says one carrier is better you can find another we a different choice!
AT&T not best in the North East region? BS

I call BS! how did TMobile go from tied on pretty much all markets to "mid-pack"?

For T-Mobile, you may be confusing the Call Quality survey results with the Customer Service survey JD Power also does.
In the CS survey, T-Mobile usually cleans up. But customer service is obviously not the same thing as network/call quality.
Far as ATT losing in the Northeast region, oh well. I wouldn't cry too much about getting second place there, but if y'all don't like it feel free to complain to JD Power.
In any case, your opinion is noted. But its only one opinion. The JD Power study was the compilation of over 25,000 users surveyed. In other words... 25,000+ opinions.
25,000 > 1. But your mileage may vary.

WOW I thought static went away with analog?
Analog hasn't gone away yet.

But most CDMA carries sell nothing but digital phones, and they have been for many months... So, having "static" issues is ridiculous for any CDMA carrier and IMPOSSIBLE for GSM carriers.

Yeah, GSM just garbles the call. That's why my brother dumped ATT, anyway. 😕
Btw, there are plenty of trimode phones still out there...
- Motorola W315
- LG 3400
- LG 3450
- Samsung u340
- LG 5300
- Samsung a870
There's also allegedly a Moto 325xi coming, which'd you'd expect to be trimode (as other 325s were).

Are they polling analog customers?
or, are they recycling the surveys from 1999?
Just goes to show you the "customers" they are polling don't know what the hell they are talkign about!

come on I know you know static does not exist in a digital signal. So when they say people say they have less static with one carrier you have to raise the BS flag!
Uhh... Wom, what part of the fact that there's a lot of trimode phones out there did you not get? 👀
Instead of doing uninformed complaining, why not read the survey?
I no damn well there are allot of trimode phones out there. My point is your roaming unless you have one with verizon or alltel! (I am only including the big carriers.
In fact, the major parameters were the following:
- dropped calls
- static/interference
- failed connection on the first try
- voice distortion
- echoes
- no immediate voice mail notification
- no immediate text message notification
Static isn't even one whole category, it's actually 'static/interference'. I'm glad they threw the static in there, again, for the trimode phone users.
So... what is it you're complaining about again, Wom?
I do't care who really is number one. Hell the carrier I use won in the area I use the phone in. I am not getting a better price since they won. I don't think my friends are envious of me. And I sitll think when I had sprint were I live now I got clearer calls. So that is what I am saying!
And Wom, I don't think anyone is saying that because someone won the West region, or whatever, that the carrier that won or lost a region is automatically the best (or worst) in EVERY SINGLE AREA in that region. Just that they were the best OVERALL in that region.
But that's sorta obvious. And nothin' really to get worked up over.

Read it, and I will gladly take that back. Right now, your chief gripe seems to be that the 25,000 customers surveyed do not agree with you.
While I respect your opinion, I also respect theirs, too. Should I not? 😲

Oh, don't be so butthurt, eraser.
I'm sure ATT will ace one of these things, come 2099. 😎
BTW, both CR and JD Powers recommends MOTOS!

And we all know how misleading that is.....
People like the way motos look so regardless how they work people want them. We are a sight and hearing society. If it looks and sounds good they want it regardless of how it preforms!

That just proves my point more how these so called reports are BS.

If that were true, then Toyota and Honda would also fail in those surveys because they both build very plain, unimpressive vehicles compared to BMW, GM and Chrysler.
The bottom line is no matter how good something looks, if it doesn't perform well and costs a lot of money on upkeep, no one will buy it. Most people aren't wealthy, and therefore must budget their money accordingly.
I can't count how many times I spoke wiht females mostly. Why you get that razr. It was cute they say.
Please I can't believe you went there.
Yeah, some (maybe a lot) of folks DO buy things based on appearance, but that is why you survey LOTS of people. That way you get a more realistic idea of what is or isn't good.
Kind of like "word of mouth", only written down and documented.
If we get treated "like a king" and promptly, we tend to be more forgiving when we do experience network issues. The reverse being true as well.
Personally, I've had no dropped calls with my ic502 phones, and no "network busy" messages. If I have a signal, I can make a call, if I don't, I can't. I think Sprint's lousy CS is the REAL problem over there, and not the network or their phones.
But then, that's MY opinion and experience, not that of everyone else, necessarily.
