Rev a vs Rev 0

Guys I have a question I am new to the PDA phone but I have a question I think I understand that Rev a has to do with the speed of incoming info right? But how better is Rev a going to be to Rev 0 (I think I'm saying it right) because I know that the i760 is the old rev 0 and the 6800 will have the rev a. I think I'll end up getting a sling box hd so will the rev a make a huge difference or what?
Thanks for any help you can give...

1X-EVDO Rev 0 is typically 400-700 kbps down, 60-80 kbps up; top speed of around 2.0 mbps.

1X-EVDO Rev A is typically 650 kbps - 1.3 mbps down, with similar upload speeds; top speed of around 3.1 mbps.

It's a fairly big difference.

(Note: Slingbox use, while not directly blocked, is not permitted on the network. If you're going to use it, limit your usage, since if you exceed 5 GB of transfer per month, you're going to get your data service turned off.)

I'm confused so if I buy slingbox I won't be able to use it w/phone? That include watching movies from sites and stuff too? So I can only use the PDA for internet w/non video sites? What about Youtube? is that different because the video's are so small?

Technically all uses that stream video (rather than download and play back later) are prohibited, but VZW does not (to my knowledge) scrutinze any use that remains below 5 GB transfer/month.

If you're going to do it, I'd keep a close eye on how much you transfer, and make absolutely certain you don't go over 5 GB.

Good question. Id like to know myself as well. If they can offer a #MIN feature to check minute usage, why cant they do the same for data?

Also, if I have my Data serivce active for 2 years now since they ahve been offering all you can eat data at one price, does that mean I am grandfathered in? Or do I succumb to a new rule that was not in my original contract?

I'm surprised their havent been class action lawsuits on this yet. I know VZW's argument is that they dont want abusers to destroy the network but if you average out all users together, it should still end up less than 5 gigs per user (meaning if I download 8 gigs and John Doe does 2 gigs, etc, their are probably more users not needing more than 5 gigs to balance it out. If VZ...

With BBA/BBAC software, there's a data usage history that you can view.

but is it per month or is it like the min. usage history where it is the life of the phone?

Use whatever service you want, but keep it in moderation.

The best example is a real life example. A lot of restaurants that have an "All you can eat buffet" actually have a disclaimer in their menu which state a limit. Barely affects anyone, but for those people that push the envelope it makes sure the business is still making money. Making no money or losing money to have a customer is stupid.
