Freezing batteries??

So I heard from someone that owns a refurbished cell phone store in my area, that if you freeze your cell phone battery over-night and put it back in your phone and let it die out, and then charge it back to full charge that it will be as good as new. I thought this was total bull but I figured I would run it by a few of you. Anyway my Mom has done it and I guess if none of you know if it works I will be able to tell you tomorrow if it works or not. The only thing I have heard about freezing batteries is that if you freeze them when they are new that they will keep longer, but that is the only thing I have ever heard about freezing batteries.

This is technology sooo old! I have been manufacturing cell phone batteries for 20 years-lithium batteries do not need to be "run down and recharged" like your Mom's NiCad batteries did.

They do react better after the first few charge cycles, but they don't need anything special done to maintain them!
