I expect new plans to be unveiled next Wednesday to coincide with the unveiling of the Prada-like LG 'X', LG '88', Samsung 'Juke',Blackberry Pearl2 If not next Wednesday then sometime soon after.

There are new plans coming out November 1st. I haven't seen details yet, but it says they are going to charge by the MB for data, whatever that means. Supposedly it is going to make us more competitive.

Rumor has it that VZW is going to bring back the 59.99 Family Plan.

That is cheaper than the cheapest plan they have now, but you also get fewer minutes. So... not really a true 'price reduction', just a lower-tier plan.

I myself would find it really hard to believe that VZW would ever lower prices, even in areas that they're very overpriced in, such as data and prepay. Even though it would help them a lot to do so, actually. 😛

me either. Until their numbers start dropping and I mean big time like sprint posting more adds then verizon they won't change. And honestly why would they now?

It's possible to post fewer net adds than Sprint? Whoa. 😳

VZW still has the $59.99 Family share plan available, but only to existing customers as a retention tool. They also now have the 65+ FSP for $59.99, for up to 2 lines.

I'm not sure what they would/could do, but they need to get more competitive with their pricing. Right now the price points are the exact same as ATT's as far as the voice calling plans go. We need to give the customers a little more than the "It's the Network" one-liner to make them want to come in. We need to offer them the ability to come to us, and get more for less!

I'd be happy if they just

- brought out a $59.99 Family Plan that wasn't a 'save' or retention plan
- fixed data (currently overpriced)
- fixed prepaid (ditto)

This post is way behind the times. VZW already launched the 59.99 plan for 550 min 2 months ago.

That is only supposed to be used as a save tool. It's not in our systems. You have to call corp customer care to change to that plan.

SystemShock was right all along, the plans are a changin' No official word on minutes/text yet, but all the wonderful responds to systemshock will be shocked to see the new price plans which make much more sense to the average consumer. oh but November 1st may be a little early. think less about minutes and more about non-user friendly plan features

did everyone know that soon when u access GIN, that instead of using minutes u will be charged kbs of data, and when u use 1mb of data u will be charged 1.99 on your bill? heard that straight from a VZW reps mouth who was trained on it recently. guess mob web is going to be free now, only because they want people using kbs of data now vs mins so when people realize they dont use their airtime to access GIN or Mw they will want to use it more but instead will be using kbs of data which will rack up quickly i imagine.

i thought the days of being nickled&dimed were behind us, guess they are not.

ps-yes i know i didnt make clear concise paragraphs but i really dont care at 6am 🙂

Yes vzw is so horrible because they did the same thing everyone else is doing but made it slightly better. This is because morons can't figure out why the 6 hours on get it now caused them to go over their minutes. So any complaints can be directed to the idiots that caused it.

corporate stores have them as well, indirects will have them in november. no more easy pay plans, not sure if i like that or not yet. we sell tons of prepay at my store, our company has 26 stores and my store sells 70% of the prepay in our company, especially easy pay...hopefully people will like these new plans, but i'm not sure i care for them. at least they're grandfathering the existing easy pay customers. also in november optional content filtering will be introduced...i guess i never realized there was that bad of content on get it now/vcast...i guess maybe vcast music (edited/not edited).

This is 100% accurate.......sorta, kinda, maybe....wait....I have no idea....or do I?

There are not going to be any changes to PDA data plans, or special "Voyager" data plans, not in the near future anyways. Everyone on the new "Nationwide" plan gets mobile web at the low price of 1.99/MB usage rounded up to the nearest MB at the end of your billing cycle. Compaired to ATT( 1 cent/kb, 10.24/mb pay as you go) and Sprint (3 cents per kb/ 30+/MB pay as you go) Verizon is cheaper. The above prices are for pay as you go data rates without ATT Media Net($20/month) or Sprint Power Vision($15 month). I would not be shocked to see the rest of the major carriers follow suit sometime in the near future.

For those of you that use a bunch of dat...

soooo....what about pda data. I dont think people really complained about vcast data prices. It's the pda/blackberry data that people have their panties in a bunch about.

Are those prices gonna be lowered? Cause it sounds like they are once the pearl is released.

No. Vcast only works on "phones" that have vcast on them. It can't be added to any other devices.

I know right? I love people that put up these lame half ass posts, then use the disclaimer of "I dont wanna lose my job"

IF YOU DONT WANT TO LOSE YOUR JOB...DONT POST SENSITIVE INFO AT ALL!!!

Posting teasers is just ridiculous and its really getting annoying.
