The MVNOs are dropping like flies. So much for the 'brave new business model' that was s'posed to take off like wildfire. 😲

Boost and Virgin Mobile are both doing well. The others cannot execute.

Almost forgot to mention... Helio is having problems as well.

no they aren't or the Korean company would not have dumped a couple more hundred million in them!

Some see the couple hundred more million as an attempt to rescue the company.

Makes sense... if Helio goes down the tubes, SK Telecom loses everything they've already put into Helio.

they can lose it. It will sting but not hurt them that much. They put the money in to get controlling stake in the carrier. Now they have more money invested then earthlink and will be able to control it.

I dunno man... Helio has already stated that they're going to lose between $340 million and $360 million for 2007. ☹️

That's a lot of money to lose on an operation that has only 130k subscribers. SK Telecom has deep pockets, but they're not going to throw money down a hole forever. If Helio doesn't perform eventually, they'll pull the plug.

yeah just one problem with amped! They did not have a parent company with deep pockets. They couldn't stay in it they ran out of money. They stated they need to make money by this year and they didn't!

Boost Mobile is actually owned by Sprint. So I don't know if it's a true MVNO. More like a branding thing.

got a point there and I beleive virgin mobile is funded with help from sprint. I would say boost wouldn't have to pay to use nextels network since they are both owned by sprint. Not sure about virgin mobile!

Well, they are still classified technically as a MVNO. Now probably they should not but when they first started out it was an MVNO of Nextel’s until they bought them out. you do have a point though.

So I will just say Virgin Mobile for now. (I might check to see others.)

isn't virgin mobile sprints pre paid? They are in sprint stores and all. Its like putting helio in a sprint store you don't see that so why virgin mobile?

Well Virgin Mobile is a JV between Sprint and the Virgin group. So yes, they use their networks. Helio will probably fail also, because Virgin and Boost are doing a great job.

Good jrfdsf imitation! 🤣

And I'm surprised that the PhoneScoop reviews for the 8350 are as positive as they have been. It's a good phone, but folks really loved the 8300, and they're going to give whatever replaces it a hard time unless it literally walks on water. 😳

Yeah I hear you, the thing is so many cell phones in general are crap, and verizon has their fair share of them...so when a phone as good as the 8300 comes along it takes time for ppl to recognize it as worthy replacement.

In a perfect world, LG would keep on selling the 8300 right alongside the 8350. It's not like they haven't had two or more midrange models for sale on VZW at the same time before.
