I am really on the fence as far as which one I want or need. For those that have made the move over to a BB or any other smartphone what would you say were the benefits you found?

If you dont get time sensitive emails, then you prolly dont need a BB. If you do, then it will certainly be a benefit to you. If you rarely use email, I dont really see the benefit.

I recently got blackberry for work on att, and it has been nice, but I still dont use it a ton.

That is exactly what I was wondering about. Thanks for the input. Have you ever had or considered a Treo? They seem to have some other functionality than the BB's do?

funny you should ask...I use a treo 650 for personal use with vzn, the BB is for work only.

I like the treo, and it has a lot of good features, but the OS is not as stable as the BB. Also, the treo's dont do as well with email as the BB.

What are the main email/internet/instant messaging differences between the two? Will the VX10000 just have Verizon's internet service or a full browser like the Pearl? I'm so excited but I can't make up my mind! I heard that the Pearl is coming in November. Any news on dates for the VX10000. Thanks for your help in advance, guys.

first off...settle down.

neither is out and the only way to make an informed decision is to go and use both phones. Just wait till weds when more info is available. Then start the process.

Debating on two phones that aren't out yet is prolly not really worth your time.

You must buy a data plan with any Blackberry as the server is constantly updating the device and without one you would have a bill in the mega bucks every month so there is really no choice. If all you care about is texting then the 10000 is probably the better (and cheaper) choice. You can also get any non-blackberry pda without a data plan too but then that seems to be a bit of a waste.

What kind of email will the VX1000 have? Will it just be Web email?

with a BB you can have 10 differnt email addresses. Gmail, Yahoo, pop3 account, BB email etc
People forgot to mention you would also need to pay extra to get your emails on a reg phone also. The BB is 24.99 for 10 meg and 44.99 for unlimted. I have had my bb for several months and have never gone over 10mg plan. I text all the time but I pay seperate for text messages just like you do on a reg phone.

If all you want to do is text and no emails than get a normal phone. Other wise get a BB

Well I have a BB and love it I had a Treo 650 and hated it. I like a stable phone. i hated the treo because it would have frequent problems all the time lock ups etc. I hated windows OS on a phone. Never has worked well on any phone that has run it.

It doesn't matter if you need time sensitive email or not. If you use email BB is the best. I sell stuff on Craigslist and ebay etc and it is great to get your email any place you go. I never really also like having the stylus for the PDA like the 6700 and the treo's.
Alot of people say try a BB and I bet you don't go back to a regular phone. Plus in a few days it looks as VZW is getting the pearl.
