I'm pretty certain that answer will be no. You don't even need anything different for a PDA. Pictures used to count as data but not anymore. They are only a part of your text/pix package.

PDA's get charged per KB for pic msgs...its uses the national access or BBA. you would think it would be covered by txt pic package...but no.

all phones use national access or broadband access for pics. you won't need a separate data plan. If you plan to user the phone to connect your COMPUTER to the internet you will need the broadband access connect plan. but not for just plain browsing.

so long as you have vcast video you data is covered.

You don't need a freaking internet pack to text on a smartphone--you have said this more than once, and it's not true. I have a treo with no data package and it functions fine with pix messaging. The only phone that you NEED a data package is a Blackberry because they are constantly connected to the server looking for emails

first of all...dont call me idiot--I wasn't the one trying to do some ridiculous phone trade for a green enV 🙄

Your situation was an isolated one...I know several people with smart phones that do not have data and have no issues with MMS messaging.

YOU ARE WRONG...call into customer service right now and they will confirm that.

Well that's not right. Maybe a year or year and a half ago, but not today. A pix/flix message will not count as data on a PDA.

Messages count just as it says..MESSAGES. If you have an unlimited messaging plan then it won't cost you anything to send messages. Now email and web browsing will be a different story if you don't have those options. But I just got off the phone with VZW and the customer service rep told me that they're probably going to make up a new plan just for the LG Voyager since the premium plan won't really work for it since it doesn't include web browsing.

Hey beotch, Chris (cwcanty) is not an idiot. He knows more about phones than you, that's for sure. He knows what he's talking about. PDAs can send MMS and have it count on their PIX plan, not data. You don't know anything. So shut your mouth, and go away.

Let me try to break this down for you... With a 'regular' camera/video phone there is a feature which enables your phone to access the network in order to send a pix or flix. The feature is called National Enhanced Service and is a $0 feature for a 'regular' phone. PDAs do not have this free feature. In order for a PDA to send a pix or flix, it must access the network using either the Unlimited Data feature, a 20mb feature or the Pay per KB feature. This is totally separate from the charge for a pix message if one chooses to fore go a messaging bundle.

Read your m&p's. This changed in December of 06. VZW's PDA's now charge MOU for pix/flix sent/received instead of kb.

I know. I told a customer this a week ago and my manager (who overheard me) blasted me for giving "misinformation" and how I needed to contact the customer back to correct the issue. Also, I needed to watch what I tell customers because telling them MOU for PDA pix/flix data will create issues and detractor net promotors. So, I proceeded to do a simple M&P search...print it out...and give it to my manager. (who was completely beside themself)

net promotor was a huge mistake for the company...

What they NEEDED to do was invest all that money into training the customer service and wdts reps better so that they don't escalate billing issues and handset and laptop issues to network repair..... who has no access to fix these billing issues.

From reading your posts I think your employment at Sprint is causing you problems when you are speaking to VZW reps... If you call in and ask about "picture mail" chances are you are going to confuse the person you are talking to and that is why you keep getting incorrect answers. If you ask about "picture messaging" you will get the correct answer. With smartphones/PDAs you are not charged data transport for picture or video messages, I have seen many accounts on the pay as you go data plan sending pix/flix messages and not getting charged anything for it.

If you were getting charged data transport it was not from the picture and video messages, it was from something else your phone was doing.

As for the data plan on the LG VX ...
