You know what, it makes it harder and harder for me to sell VZW with confidence when I have no idea as to where the heads of the decision makers are in this company..
Since last DECEMBER we heard rumors of the htc 6800, here we are a year later. All I've heard is 'be patient'. Well I thought all of my patience came through when we received our dummy phone of the 6800 about a month ago. Anytime we get a dummy, the launch kit is about 2 weeks to follow....no launch kit.
So what do we see now? VZW announces its fall line up. Let's take a look shall we?
-A 1.5 yr old RIM Pearl
-A new chocolate, phase 3
-And of course, the voyager; excuse me a touch screen 9900

Seriously, what do you want?
Its people like you that just try to find something to bitch about. Verizon is releasing 4 badass phones, no matter what they come out with you will find something to fault it for. Go away. đ
...
Can I bi$ch cause I want the Prada but the Voyager looks like it'll do way more stuff but isn't metal with a german camera lense, but that shouldnt matter cause it's got the Prada UI and does the sideways screen thingy like an iPhone with VZNaz and a HTML browser with MobiTV?
...
Where did it say that this is the entire list of upcoming phones?
...
So tell me what exactly do you look for in a phone if great design, multipled features are not enough. And since when did touch screen become an "excuse".
Wake up in twenty years and you might find the phone your looking for.
...
I'm with you southridge ...Verizon, come up with something original. Too little, too late I say ...
...
yea, same here, I'm really pissed cuz, the i760 hasn't, came out yet, and I'm been waiting for this phone for like 5 months, and still nothing, i also thought that this phone along with the xv6800, were going to come out soon because of the dummies coming in, but i guess not!!!, yeah its not fair that other carriers get phones when there still in, and verizon gets them, when newer and cooler things pop up. verizon, please release the i760!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!! âšī¸
đ
...
Not to mention that the i760 was in Verizon's database because several people were able to order them using the sku. I saw a guy come into my store with one looking for accessories. I told him the phone hadn't been released yet and good luck finding accessories for it.
...
Yeah that whole mess delayed the phone getting released too because they had to investigate what happened and get all the accounts that got the phones flaged, time had to be spent removing information from the system so idiotic employees wouldnt order the phone for more customers.. Now at least it is in the equipment guide with the launch package showing a release date.
...
Ahem...a touch screen 9900 with a full HTML browser using EV-DO thank you very much.
...
too bad that the html browser is slow as anything!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! đ
...
Slower than the Iphone on Edge?
...
... why would you be so stupid as to comment on the speed a phone that hasnt been released yet can browse? The software hasnt been finished so even if you did get access to one of the betas it is just that.. a beta...
...
Facts put into print based upon what?

you are smoking something... VZW never says phones are coming out more than a few days before it comes out (until these Next phones), you need to stop confusing what you read on the internet with what the carrier says.
and I like how you think a phone should have been released before it had been made.. that would be cool, have people pay for service on a phone that the manufactuer hasnt even made yet ;P
as for getting the dummy phones so far in advance, maybe you should ask your manager to not order them so far in advance.
...
One thing people must realize is that RIM just released the BB Pearl 8130 in CDMA format for the first time. The option was not even there. Also, as far as the i730 and the 6800 nothing has been confirmed. Until you see it on the shelf, it should be treated as a rumor.
...
Does this phone really have Mobile TV capability? I always thought that the 9900 should have been a TV phone. What do you know? Ask and you shall receive? Touchscreen with a keyboard option, full HTML AND Mobile TV!
...
Yes, the lg vx 10000 is a Vcast TV phone. There are pix of it with the TV antenna extended even and many pix had the "no tv service available" icon showing

Go sell t-mobile or something else. You complain and whine but when you get your commision you dont.

I totally agree with you my friend, and I got fed up and you know what I did...I got an iPhone and I couldn't be happier. Don't take VZW's nonsense. If you want a phone and not have to pay a crap load of money to use the feautres that the phone manufacturers designed for it, then get out of VZW. The service is about the same as VZW's but you know what I used to get dropped calls with VZW as well, so no big deal there. Also, those new phones don't even look like they're all that anyway, but I guess anytime VZW releases phones it's a big deal, since they never release any phones, except for those crappy UTStarcom Pantech phones that no one buys. My 2 cents..
...
I have to agree with you, at least when I think of the phones that Verizon has released in the last 4 years and that they have none of the great Sony or Nokia phones. Verizon always falls back on "but it's the network", which is starting to remind me of how the Simpsons have the great satirical line "but what about the children"
Maybe someday it will be in their best financial interest to have the best phones too.

If you want VZW to carry sony and nokia phones that you think are great, maybe you should go talk to sony and nokia and convince them to make CDMA phones...
VZW has "the best phones" for most of their customers. What you consider "best" is not going to be the same as what someone else does.
If you think another carrier is better, then go to that carrier. No one is forcing you to have verizon wireless service (unless its your employer, and then you have no right to complain because they are paying for you to have a phone).
...
Ahh the great market mantra...if you don't like it, go elsewhere. I think computer manufacturers use that one a lot when they get complaints about service. My favorite is Best Buy though, they have so many people in line that they have no desire to worry about service. Thank god we still have some public control of our resources. There are many reasons why one might stay with Verizon in spite of bad products and still wish that the company would improve. For one thing, I have had all of the phone companies and been dissatisfied with all of them, it just so happens that the problem with Verizon is there equipment. The other reason, if you must have a reason, is that when I switched to Verizon I talked everyone in my family to also switch, so ...

The point is that carriers pay money for exclusive phones, manufacturers dont make every phone for every technology and carriers just cant carry every phone made for the tech they use.
Carriers will always have phones other carriers dont, if you dont like the lines of phones. The carrier needs to pick the phones that are going to keep it growing and keep the majority of the customers happy. There will always be customers that are envious of a phone on another carrier's network, but that is just how things go.
If you are consistantly unhappy with the phones being carried, you need to change carriers or just live with a phone you arent that happy with.
There are millions of customers that are happy with the phone line up, so there is ...

actually, once I went to a smartphone, I have been happy with my phone. The MQ has worked just fine. If VZW added an FM radio to it, it would be perfect, if not just a bit expensive to maintain.

I totally agree!! Lets hurry up and come out with all these cool new phones. Nevermind thoroughly testing them or strategically placing them at key launch times........ Oh yeah, and lets change our name to AT&T, too...
Give me a break!

I don't think changing your name is a good idea, but someday, they may buy you. so get used to the name.
