Industry changes

I think it's important to note that VZW has responded well to changes in the industry. Customers want a reliable network, but are also now more concerned with having top of the line, cutting edge, innovative devices. VZW is delivering during the 4Q with all of the above. As an employee of the company, I am excited about the direction VZW is heading and can't wait to purchase the voyager...and the venus.

What is the best kind of voice/message/data plan to get with the Voyager?

I've heard new pricing is set to drop on Nov 1st. Convenient that the Voyager will be out around that time. Coincidence? I think not. ATT/Cingular/att dropped the info on their iphone pricing about 2 weeks prior to launch. We will see very soon. I want this phone so bad I'm salivating... 🤤 🤤 🤤

Let us hope they do not cap the data on the DO network, expand the DO to allow Alltel and Sprint to roam with them, and do not have restrictions on the devices. Or else, these phones will not matter.

The phone isn't a smart phone. It's a web browser. Why would you need to cap the amount of browsing of the web? That doesn't even make sense.

As far as other restrictions, are we talking about bluetooth again? The majority of the cell phone use populations is not savvy enough to even use that product.

Your undermining of these products won't work buddy. VZW is changing the game...again. Sprintnextel isn't even in the conversation. Unless we want to count how many of your customers we will port over.

I am not even talking about Sprint. In general, VZ caps many things that have to deal with devices and pc-cards from usage to restrictions. Changing what game? LTE was a mistake for them. Their current data offerings are another issue and if they do not get that fixed, LTE or any of these newer devices do not matter. Sorry. I like to analyze the industry but on an unbiased level while, others analyze (if you can even call it that) at a bias one.

Verizon Wireless has not chosen its 4G technology. Your comments regarding LTE are premature.

Regarding the voyager and the data pricing, your commnets are premature also. Once the pricing is released, do you promise to apologize? That's all I ask. Then, we can discuss how many of your customers we are going to port over.

Verizon already announced that they are going to do LTE with Vodafone. I have said many comments that were pre-mature and I was correct with most of them. (I do not remember them {and the carriers} all but, I do remember is this.) AT&T and Verizon’s Push to talk offerings. Verizon’s data plans. How did they do? Awful.

I think those devices and LTE that Verizon is planning to roll out will be very good, but the problem is, they have current issues with data and the restrictions. So far, I have a reason to say what I have said.

There aren't any issues with our data plans. Our data revenues have skyrocketed over the past couple of years. The only people that are complaining (for the most part) are those who

a. Don't even use VZW
b. Are savvy enough regarding data usage that they really care about it. Most data users are not affected by the cap.

Again, VZW has not agreed to LTE. WE have not made a finite decision regarding 4G data.

Our devices, products, services, people etc trump anything that Sprextel has to offer. You know this so you seek to undermine what VZW has done. Having said that, I'm not responding to any more of your posts on the subject. The only reason I have to this point is to make sure the casual reader realizes that you have no idea...

Not at all. He didn’t prove anything just that he doesn’t want to have an un-biased conversation. No big deal.

I was going to reply to him but obviously he said he doesn’t want to because he doesn’t want to challenge me. I don’t blame him, not many people on here do.

Well, at least you know that I'll argue with you happily on most anything, Nexty. 🙂

How'd you dig VZW's 4 new phones, btw?

Why does anyone listen to Nextel18 anymore anyway? The 18 in Nextel's screenname is the number of months this person has been saying that Sextel's data network and aggresive pricing was going to boost sales and hurt VZW. However, sextel is purging customers like no one else. At their loss rate, they will have a zero customer base in post paid by 2020. LOL (made up year...but you get my point)

I know System and our arguments are civil, which is something that some members should learn. Regardless, I am digging them. I do like those phones. The Voyager is the one that is calling me. Maybe I might pick one up. How about your views on those four?

It's amazing how when you are #1, people can find no fault with the other guys but can repeatedly trash the top dog. I guess that is the curse of being the best carrier. People are always looking for a way to knock you off the top spot.

And it's important to note that the top spot isn't sheer number of subscribers. VZW is recognized as the industry leader. Period.
